![]() | Subaeruginosa on manure
HI GUYS I read the article on different Subaeruginosa strains http://forums.mycotopia.net/exotic-m...eruginosa.html (Psilocybe subaeruginosa) and it is mentioned that they have been found on manure also bernd marco schuldes describes a method in his book (das pilzuchtbuch) a method to grow wood lovers spawn on horse manure or horse manure compost directly from spores so anyone ever tried that.. also on a dutch non sponsor page they claim that subaeruginosa fruits in eurpean summer and spring if kept moist reports here report fruiting in autum as most wood lovers if we could find a strain of potent bluing woodlovers that fruits on manure, woodchip mixtures that colonizes faster than pure wood and fruit with a cold schock even in summer...(dream) |

hi lost the the book (have no clue where it is) but the idea is to pasteurize small amount of horse shit, bring to field capacity and innoculate with a complete spore print..does not have to be sterile, but clean as say when spawning.. us just a little mix well with the spores it should give your shrooms a big startig advantage over others. he claims that it worked for azurencens as wod lover and of cause for cubes and pans |

Check out this thread i just saw, by Shinobifeather, as for fruiting in spring time (Southern hemisphere) http://forums.mycotopia.net/fungi-gr...nosa-grow.html (Subaeruginosa grow) I found a couple of examples of mixing straw into woodlover beds, so if that's a good additive then I guess that processed straw in the form of manure isn't so far fetched. http://forums.mycotopia.net/fungi-gr...tml#post733715 (Woodlovers on straw?) http://forums.mycotopia.net/fungi-gr...tml#post773754 (Private Cyan Reporting For Active Duty (Psilocybe Cyanescens 2009)) However I have never before heard the claim that woodlovers could grow on manure alone, or that their fruiting could be speeded up by using manure, but they are nteresting ideas. Would definitely be interesting to hear if anyone besides Schuldes have tried. The method suggested by Schuldes doesn't appear very fail-safe to me though, as spores are usually difficult to start in pure manure, but if you have plenty of prints why not try it. It's usually recommended you mix in something like rice flour with the manure (as in Waylitjim's pan cyan tek) if you want to start from spores.
