fuzzy cake

Sorry for being such a newbie, but my first cake is pretty fuzzy and I would like to know if I should do anything or just leave it.

How's your fresh air exchange? That usually causes the fuzzies. It is no big deal, though. Just fan a little more.

Thanks. I have not been giving it a lot of fresh air, so that must be it. Do you think I should take it out and wash off the fuzzy? ( maybe under tap water?)

No I wouldn't do that... Just make sure you give it more fresh air...do you have holes in your terrarium? They seem to help me a lot. Also, dunk between flushes. You could probably dunk it now and see good results, especially if it hasn't fruited yet.

I just birthed it about 3 or 4 days ago. I do have holes in the terrarium, but I have it in an enclosed shelf area so there must be no air movement there for it. I'll resolve that.

Thanks for the help! I'm just dyin to try my first shroom...never did them before!

If you have the time just take the lid off 3 times a day or so and use the lid to fan air into the fruiting chamber. That should help you get pins and get the fuzz in check. Good luck mate!

The fuzz is just mycelium--no need to wash that. Fan manually and/or use a small fan pointed indirectly at your grow chamber. It looks quite healthy from the picture, so you should notice pins soon. Good luck.

Thanks again guys.
I'm starting full swing. I tried doing a lc of two different strains ( in two different jars of course,) a few days ago and those jars are already getting nice and cloudy. I have several more brf cakes nocked up and they are just starting to come along.
Next step will be a mini bulk grow on coir!
Damn I'm psyched. This is a fun hobby already and I haven't even tried a shroom before ( but spice sure is nice! )
