Contam in tub

Yo guys. If one has a small area contamed in a tub (a really small area, I'll get a pic later), then should one throw out the whole tub or just scoop that section off?

It's a brownish sort of mold growing over the myc on one area of the tub, about 2-3 times the size of a quarter. What do you guys think?

how big is the tub. if it is a big enough tub i would scoop out the contam part but go like a inch all the way around extra to make sure you get it all.
better chance of it not coming back.need some pics

Eh. Hard to say. If the thing is close or starting to pin and you got a patch of green I personally will cut it out if I know I can get a flush out of it. If it's not even close to done colonizing I toss the bitch in the gutter with the rest of my unwanted projects. It's a judgement call on your part. Just know that if you choose to do so you should isolate it from other tubs especially ones that are still colonizing and bleach scrub the shit out of your house after all is said and done because those spores will be all over the place.

In retrospect. I will likely be tossing tubs that show contam unless they already have pins from here on out. Good luck with your adventures friend.

My opinion is that if it was trich, just keep carefully removing, you will eventually lose, but may salvage something. But I think trich starts out fluffier looking than mycelium, then turns green.

Brown does not sound good at all,especially if it smells funky. then toss. it carefully and cut your loses
