![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | How I dunk a bulk sub
I've seen a few dunk questions lately so I decided to snap a pic of the ghetto way I dunk my subs between flushes. Here it is folks. Ghetto, cheap, and very very easy. A few gallon jugs 3/4 full of water or more on top of the sub distributing the weight as evenly as possible. I usually dunk for 2 hours, it seems if I go 3 or more with a really loosely made poo/verm sub it starts to get mushy and fall apart. I also make sure to keep the water 2" or as high as my FAE holes are because for some reason after about 1 hour the water level seems to lower and if there isn't enough the sub isn't fully submerged any more. I'm not sure if this is because of expansion etc. it's just an observation. I have used saran wrap between the gallon jugs and the sub and I've also just set the jugs right on the sub without cleaning them etc.... It hasn't made a diference and hasn't cause me contams or problems that I can see. When the dunk is complete I use a 2"/4" wrapped in saran wrap to brace the sub while I tip the tub and let it drain. It works like a charm. Hope this helps a few people. I got this idea from Eatyualive to give credit where it is due. Hope this helps somebody. No need for another tub the same size with weight in it to hold the sub down.
