Thanks to everyone who helped me sort out ideas for my Bulk Substrate! I was looking at various TEKs in the vaults searching for some creative input when I came across the Laundry Basket TEK (visions?) it got me thinking, what about milkcrates? If I designed a kind of "hanging scaffolding" and put them in my grow room (RH 80% temp 73*F) with a fan, would that work? Hip said it was like growing outdoors but better and the yields looked great. Not to mention the aesthetics of giant hanging shroom-cubes amidst my cacti and palms sounds just too damn good to pass up... Thoughts?

I have used milk crates for oyster before. I gave up on them after one grow, mine had to many spots that were hard to clean. I now use them to put garbage bags in and then straw and spawn in there to get colonized with a weight on top. Then remove from bag and crate and place in humidity dome. This has worked well for me.

Anyway, I was at the $1 store yesterday with the gf and we found some trays that looked PERFECT, roughly 1'x5" with 1/4" holes spaced out evenly... Maybe 20-30 of those spawned with my KSS & GT. Hopefully I can get my camera fixed soon so I can start postin pics. If not, I'll use my phone (3.2 mp) in the meantime... Oh, and thanks for the tip on all those lil nooks and crannies with contaminants. I didn't ever think of that.

That last link was nearly the exact image I had on my mind. You posted this link in another thread: http://forums.mycotopia.net/photo-ga...sand-tray.html (Sand Tray) and I think between the milkcrate and sandmans tray TEKs I'll have the perfect plan for my grow situation. Stealth isn't really an issue so much as space conservation (the room serves a dual-function) thanks a lot for all the information, everyone! Now if I can only succeed even half as good as you all I would def be a happy camper lol
