Is perlite really required in a grow chamber if you are using a bulk substrate ? I am thinking that enough water is stored in the substrate to keep the chamber humid without the need for perlite. What do you think, yes or no to perlite |

No, I would not use perlite unless your sub is so small it fits in a tray (the ever-popular mini-bulks) and is much smaller than your fruiting chamber. If you have enough substrate to fill at least 3" or so in the bottom of a tub, it will provide its own humidity. Peace--Jammer |

^^^ What he said! If you can see the bottom of the tub because of space between the containers, the containers should be sitting on damp Perlite. If the tub bottom is completely filled with substrate, it will provide it's own moisture. Small containers without Perlite will provide moisture, but they will dry excessively in the process.
