I've searched the forums and can't seem to find the answer. I'm looking for a faster way to fully colonize a whole grain brown rice jar per the 9er tek. (http://archives.mycotopia.net/discus...es/5/3383.html) I've read about dextrose and honey and corn syrup liquid cultures and just don't know which one to choose. So many different water-to-food ratios to choose from. And none of them seem to mention how much spore water to use to inoculate how much LC solution. And once I've got a viable LC solution, how much of that should be used to inoculate a 1/2 pint jar of whole grain brown rice? Anything I've forgot to consider? Your expert guidance is appreciated. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | i think this answers all your questions... http://forums.mycotopia.net/faq-freq...e-how-why.html (Liquid Culture – How and Why…) if not, there's a link from the post to the archives on LC. take a few to read it all the way through and i'm sure youll feel more at ease with it. LC is the oly way to go, imo!

![]() | http://forums.mycotopia.net/liquid-c...lture-tek.html (Dank-Ass Liquid Culture-Tek!) Use a large sweet potato but make sure you rinse it off really good first. Filter your potato water as in tek. Use 2 Tablespoons of light karo to the entire mix (16 cups). Fill 1 Quart jars 1/2 way full. PC. Let cool 1 day. Inoculate 1/2 to 1 cc spore solution or LC. You are mimicking nature. Don't rush it. Let it run it's course. According to my sources of studies, a sweet potato is the healthiest potato. good luck

If you want fast colonisation then you can leave your grains/rice purposely drier than normal. e.g. add 50ml less water than you usually would, then you can add 50ml of LC and the dryish grain will suck it up and colonise VERY quickly.
