Wavy Caps!!!!:)

Just got an email from my old house-mate with some pics attached.

I had put some spawn and woodchips in a small corner of his garden around 1.5 years ago. I had no expectations last year.

I had to leap around and have a little whoop and holler when I saw these.

He's taking "care of them" until I can make it to see him ( about 30 miles away ).

Ive got goose-bumps all over my body!!!!!!

Thank you Mushroom Gods!!

Thank you Topia!

Thanks guys,

I'm afraid I'm not guna be able to print though

My mates not in the know about those things, ive already had to give very concise instructions on picking. I'm not sure he can do it.

I wo'nt be up there til next tues/weds. The bigguns are gettin cut today and i just hope i get to do the later ones. He said some of the bigguns are a bit mushie, i suggested he put these in a jar in the fridge. Is that a good idea?? I thought they could be made into a tea next week.

Will keep you all posted.

I know in the cooking world a trick is to lightly boil button's and such if they're starting to go bad.
I'm pretty sure that'd destroy the fun in trippy caps though

Congratulations!

thats a badass patch ya got there
as for storage of the mushy mushies ( ha ha) i would try and dehydrate it as quick as posibble but if its only starting to go bad you should be fine in the fidge for a couple of days just try and keep moisture and air to a minimum
At any rate keep up the good work

Thanks for all your compliments folks.

This patch was started from a patch I found 2 years ago, I managed to make some small spawn bags by transfering living myc into zip bags with some beech chips in.

Its so cool to know that i managed to keep this strain going as I visited the original patch last year and it was pretty much done.

Can u see how prolific and dense this strain fruits? Thats only about two square feet. Look how big the clusters are!!!

I'm aiming at a proper sized patch in the woods somewhere next year

If I get prints I shall post the news and take PM's for them. Not a certainty yet though.

Anyway, enjoy the pics, hopefully have a few more next week

Cheers

Here's a couple nice shots of the original specimens from 2 years ago.

I really like the accidental color filter effect on the 2nd one.

Very Nice!!That's quite a nice surprise to get.I wouldn't recommended putting them in an airtight vessel as that would cause rot though.Better to just use a paper bag and keep them in the fridge.let us know how they turn out

That's what i reckoned from the pic, probly almost a pound.
Matey has cut em and put em to dry so there is no mega urgency, am hoping to see fresh pins when I get up there.

How long on average is it between flushes with cyan's? Or do they just keep flushing as long as the weather permits???

Its all about the weather for these guys. I had sum clear into DEC last year. Try sum wet if you havent before. Just be sure not to let friends do more than 1.5 to 2g even for the expierenced. I did 2.2 dry the other day and peeled sum paint off the wall for 3 hrs strait. Help down the trip for almost 10 hrs. Good times, lol. When I hook up friends they only do 1.5 at most and I have never heard a complaint. Check my pics over in the wild mushroom section. If you want you can send a friend invite to me as well.

No pun intended , they come in waves. There are definite discernible flushes and they are dependent on several factors like moisture , humidity , temps etc. It can be as long as 10 days to 2 weeks resting period between flushes (where I live anyways).

So far i've had 3 major flushes in the Cyans beds , and then there are always the mid-sized and up and coming pins that are ever-present. There's always something to harvest but the bulk of it comes in flushes.

The little guys kill me, hate to cut them but if they are flat or close then they probably dumped a bunch of spores, so the cycle is complete. I get a alot of tiny ones fully open, they add up though. This mornings net wt was just over half p.

Imagine how I feel having someone else cutting them

My mate is a bit vacant as well. He was already slow on the draw getting a pic and letting me know they were there, hence the overly mature ones.
I asked him to check the week before but he was too f****n lazy!

Tempted to camp out there just to keep an eye on them.

I am in the UK. I reckon you be fine where you are , your season would probably be shorter though.

It hasn't gone below freezing here yet so they will continue to pop I hope

I'm afraid most of the cred goes to mother nature.
I set that patch up in 10 minutes. Just dug a quick shallow hole, put wet cardboard in bottom, bust up about 1 pint of spawn, then covered with chips/soil mixture. It was a very rushed job.
Left it for 1 year and voila. I think the cat might have even been shitting in there. That might be the key eh!
I think it might have been watered a bit in summer as well.
Other than that it was pretty much total neglect tek.

I can't wait to test them out

Ate some with my mate and his gf last night. They hadn't had any for a while and we havn't tripped together yet so we took it easy.

Started with a couple of small freshies then ate a larger one after an hour or so. Gave us all a nice little buzz for a few hours. I think this strain is not as potent as the Washington strains. Unless we just spread out the dose too much.
Guna try eating 2 teaspoons of "honey' next time and see how far that goes

Was also contemplating a liberty cap tea with 1 tsp cyan honey in.
