How much substrate do you recommend per pound of spawn?

What type of substrate are you planning on using?

I've been using one part spawn, one part hpoo, and one part vermiculite.
Been working great!

I've used one part spawn to one-half part each of the other two.
Colonizes faster under the same conditions, otherwise no great advantages noted.

I've recently aquired coir for the first time and plan to try it next with OI.

I do one part spawn, to 2 parts of a 60/40 or so mix of poo/verm. Works great for me.

Lately, I've been spawning pretty heavily, a 1:3 or even 1:2 ratio. It gives you quick colonization plus the added nutrients in all of the spawn.

i am currently colonizing quarts for my first bulk grow.
no experience, but i was planning 1 part spawn 1 part verm 2 parts coir, add 1 part hpoo if i can get some in time

I ordered the 10 rye bags and donkey dung combo from mycrotopia.
That is 10+ pounds of spawn and 5 pounds of donkey poo.
I'll take your advise and do the one part spawn, one part verm, and one part poo.

Thinking of dong burma and south american, though if my sotm arrives around the same time then I'll grow some creepers as well.

i use 2:3 spawn/bulk

colonizes pretty fast.

that's the main reason i do it like that.

i've seen people get away with going 1:5 spawn/bulk

it's all in preference.

i think 1:3 is the most usual

The heavier your spawn to substrate ratio is, the better your chances for success. I would go at least 1:2 spawn to substrate.
