PF Poo Tea Problems

ok, so i repasteurized the donkey doo i got from Hippy3, and saved the water i squeezed out of it afterwards in two amazon tea jugs (lol). ive tried both whole rice and straight pf tek, and get contamination 100% of the time. i boiled the water before using. i suspect the first reply suspect will be that the source could be inoculation. this is very possible, as i only have my first time self made prints to make em with, but i cant help but think its coming from the poo tea. 100%. im determined to use these prints and get a viable shiitake, but dont know if there might be extra sterilization procedures for poo tea? or perhaps its an ill conceived idea? i just used it as a replacement for water in the posted threads, and do 3 day 90 min fractional sterilizations often with me pushing down on the lid to build pressure inside. any help is more than way appreciated times 72.

You don't have to boil the poo water, simply sterilize it with your jars. I would definitely guess that the prints are your contam. source. That is the most common culprit, especially since they were the first you had ever taken. There are many other possiblilities, of course.

I would noc up a test jar with regular water and see if that contaminates. If it does, you pretty much know that your print source is contaminated.

thanks! always quick with the good advice, MLB... lol. i think i have more proof of your analysis. couple of the jars are showing trich, but only directly in the spot inoculated. im assuming. looks like bruising, but more of a greenish tint. dunno if i should try another print with crossed fingers, or just pray for my last ditch clone cardboard tek attempt. WBS the only spawn medium i have left after this disaster... 36 jars landfill bound.

oh.. and not sure if it makes a difference, but my poo tea absolutely smells like shit, unlike the substrate it came from... bad... lol

Ive never made poo tea but if your innoc. points are turning green you have it right, either print tek, syringe making tek, or dirty innoculation procedure. My guess would be with the print since you seem well versed in the latter.

If you have green at the noc spots, that is from the syringe most likely. I have had it happen. Heck, everybody does at some point.

Poo tea stinks like a rotting barbarian corpse, lol. My wife will leave the house when I pull out my brown gallon jug.
