Do I need to do anything with verm?

'm gonna start playing around with some rez effect.
Do I need to do anything to prep the verm (other than bring to field capacity)
or can I just mix right out of the bag?

This is the verm I have:

Although it is likely just fine straight out of the bag, you can wet it a bit and microwave on high for a couple minutes. It certainly doesn't hurt to be cautious.

i bake mine in the oven at 300 for about 20 minutes - just to be safe.

Chances are the verm is good to go without doing much too it, but if you have any doubts it's better to be safe and sterilize, at least then if something does go wrong you've eliminated this factor and can better spend time trying to find where the real problem is.
