    Question about EQ strain

Just had some trouble finding the white stuff on my fars after about 5 days.... anyone have any observations about equdorians that could be shared, ie speed in colonization?
    Thanksss

about as quick as every other cube.
What temp are your jars kept at?
What kind of jars? (i.e. brf, rye, etc.)
    Are the holes taped?
Did you let them cool after pc'ing them?

5 days isn't an overly long time to see germination, patience is a virtue here.

5 days is too soon to be seeing germination. Give them at least 7-10 days, and I would not start to worry unless it was 3-4 weeks or more since I've innoced them. I've seen some take 4 weeks or longer to germinate.

As a basic rule though, about 1 week, 7-10 days and you should be seeing white blotches Patience is our friend. hehe

For future reference(as I am gearing up for my first attempt),
how cool do the jars have to be?
Back to room temp, or just cool enough to handle, I think I have read both on here?

    Thanks

i let mine sit overnight. you can pick it up and handlel it and it not feel too warm at about 90oF...the inside of the jar is still much warmer.

also...a buddy is doing some EQ and it took about 10 days for germination on rye. he shot 3cc msi straight down the center. look at the bottom of the jar...that's where his germinated first.

My experience shows that the eq is a little slower to germ than others.

i agree, mine were slow as well. they gave me some good sized fruits though, with nice reddish/brown cap before the veil would tear. not the best yielding of my bunch(dixies, cambos and b+)but still nice

When innoculating, just let the solution driobble out and slowly dribble down the side of your jar. This will leave a trail of spores all the way down the side. If you squirt to hard, it all ends up at the bottom and colonization takes longer.

recently ive been useing EQ shroom tissue from the karo tek and they fully colonize at warp speed. one of my jars was done in a week. so i would recommend you check it out if you want a faster colonization time

I do the same as Murcury. But you want to make sure they are cool enough. Any temps over 105F will, supposedly, kill spores. I also let them sit over night in the PC without opening it. That way they are at room temps and it is safe to innoculate.

Im thinking colonization is slower than normal due to my choice in verm.

I made 12 jars pf tek style, and instead of fine verm I ended up with the lightly colored coarse verm. Has anyone had any luck with this stuff?

In reference to heat - I let sit overnight too. Thanks again for the responses.

That verm is fine. (I mean OK) The EQ's I have done in the past seems to colonize and pin slower than other strains. It could take up to 25 - 30 days to fully colonize. Just give it time. Halfway through the colonization period turn the jars upside down. There is some debate whether this works for "draining" CO2 but I do it anyway.

Thanks everyone, I think I may have been a bit too keen innoculating just 2 hours after pcing but at least I have half a syringe left I to work with. I shall try and summon some of that much sort after quality named patience, and do some of this and some of his and maybe then I can do this!!

and probably end up like this

Although you could call it somewhat limited experience ...Eq isnt the fastest strain in the world from my work with it thus far. The only real comparison i have done (besides going off word of mouth) is with tapalpa and fly cyan, both appear to have faster myc growth imo.
