Question Reclaimed Cellulose as casing or substrate?

While looking for coir I found some reclaimed cellulose (used as rodent/rabbit bedding). What are peoples thoughts on using it for casing or substrate. It looks very fiberous (sp) and says it's free of dyes, inks and solvents. I can post a pic if anyone wants to see it.

I've seen that stuff and thought about using it as a substrate for oysters, but haven't gotten around to testing it yet.
The one problem I'm thinking you could encounter, is when that stuff gets wet you might end up with a wad of dense wet pulp that the mycelium can't easily/quickly grow throughout.
Hadn't thought about using it for casing, that might work if you can keep the stuff damp but not too wet.
You should give it a try (as a sub and casing) and let us know
