![]() | is this a contam?? This is a small casing of australian in coco coir/vermiculite. i was hoping you guys could identify this thing. It only looks blue/green in the pics because of the light reflecting off of the blue plastic container its in. It looks pretty white otherwise. contam, or no? thanks! |

![]() | Trich! Get rid of it before it turns green and starts to sporulate. It will stay white until then. Once green, it's too late. The shit will be everywhere and severe clean up will be required. I'd clean everything anyways. Hard to tell where it came from. Good luck!

![]() | Yes, it's a contaminate. But, it's on the surface of the casing layer. Coir is prone to do that if the PH balance isn't correct, or the air exchnge is weak. I'd take the tray outside and then would scoop out the contaminated casing material with a burger flipper of something along those lines. I seriously doubt that the substrate is contaminated. After you remove the contaminate, mist the entire casing layer and tray with a bleach solution of 1:100 well. Do not replace the missing casing material.... |
