casing

i made a couple casings following the hongus tek .. In the tek he didnt pre sterlize his casing mix so Should I have pre sterlized my casing mix or do you think the 2 brf cakes that i used in each of the casings will be strong enough to colinize.. this is my first casing ,,,, all I used was verm as a casing mix

vermiculite normally needs no heating if u mixed with clean water, as it comes presterilized out of the bag...

You should be good. Tap water is cleaner than you'd think, bacteria wise.

I'm unfamiliar with Hongus Tek. Did you bury the cakes in Verm whole, or did you crumble and then put verm on top? How thick is your top layer of verm?

i'd look in a couple days,
verm. doesn't really colonize all that well
compared to verm/coir so don't expect
to see a lot of mycellia on the surface
