i was browsing and discovered the nook--a website about schrooms and i remember seeing your screen name everywhere on there then i found the schroomery---it was ok then i stumbled upon this site and saw your name again and the information on here completely destroys the others---i dont want to sound like im kissing butt, but youre the best---hands down. thanks for all the great info

Why I joined...bottom line I love to learn and Im so intrigued by psychedelic drugs.and as far as Ive seen there are some pretty crafty people here. Some day very soon Ill go9ing to attempt to grow my first batch of shrooms for many reasons( i.e. privacy). There is so much mentioned on this site, stuff I've never ever heard of (DMT?), but Like I said I love to learn. O ya getting F-up is nice too. But anywho give me some help peoples. PLeaSe. For the friendly informative way info is presented. I found that doing research on other sites that it was afully common to flame others for asking valid questions. Although it is important to read as much as posible it is not always easy to find reference to the threads you would find the info in. It appears to me that the members here are more willing to help out others. Plus the trading post area is a big factor. I am all for providing support to the vendors who sponsor the site but WE are our best resourse. I do not belive in paying (with large profit) for spores. The vendor may be a good option for some but I like to be a little bit more resourseful than that.

I've been growing cubes on and off for 6 years or so... maybe more, with about 5 successful grows under my belt. Got my first syringe from the professor himself, man those were some awesome boomers. Circumstances have lead me away from the hobby at various times, but I always find myself coming back to it. I stumbled on this site awhile back looking for alternatives to the Shroomery and wanting to increase my knowledge. The vaults are what got me hooked.

wow has my perspective changed since i joined. I see how dumb i was when i first joined. Now that i know the ropes im embarrassed for all the posts i made when i first joined. But everyone was always nice to me on here even though i was an imbicil. Now that this site gave me so much i give back to all the members on here as much as possible....having freinds is more important than anything so bending over backwards for cool people is a better kick than any of my projects. VIP was the best thing ever for i found so many freinds in the chatroom. This really is an awesome place and even the pricks are good people because they always make you think before you post. Ive answered my own easy questions alot by being nervous of gettin torn apart by 1 of the great memebers on here. That helps me to see that alot of the answers are already planted in my own brain. If i dont find the answer than i def ask and i always get good answers back that help me by a long shot. This is def a great site and its only great by how the memebers on here act and how well it is moderated to keep garbage from infecting the board. So i guess with that said the reason i joined is...........

Hey i joined yesterday, Because i have been searching for a good site to learn from. i found the shroomery and yes they helped me out i wont say they didnt! but nothing caught my attention then about a month later when im a few weeks till the end of my first grow (P. Cyanescens) i found you guys! and there is just so much to file away stored on this site its amazing and how generouse people are with all of this information! Either way i joined because there is sooooo much to learn from here. p.s. i will be posting pics and the end of my grow log here tonight sometime. |

I joined for a few reasons... 1) I'm studying Herbal Medicine at University - This is a good place to Network 2) I'm a mycology nerd... I just can't get enough of that funky fungus 3) I wanted to learn how to make SPICE Since joining I've found more reasons to stay! |

| why I'm here?
I started growing shitake, and nedded help.... Eventually I aquired 2 different types of shrooms and collected spores from the bags. Then I nedded MORE HELP. Long story short I go to bed with head aches for a week from studying. And 100% success on both counts. I LOVE YOU GUYS Now I just study every tek that I can. |

I recently moved and no longer have friend in the area that are into the same interesting things I am . I must say since I joined I got nothin g but love from the community so thanks to all limeade,mrchen,cuts, and many more thanks guys I love to grow anything that it, from shrooms to bud to cactis and everything you can do with them. I recently started to grow shrooms again I used to 3-4yrs ago I used to live in west coast between tampa and orlando the best place because of all the farms it was pure bliss when I first moved to florida and a buddy said they grow in the wild the first night shroom hunting was the best 5 win dixie bags full it was amazing now I am in a state that has no natural mushrooms but that wont stop me I love adivce and am willing to help anyone if I got the answer I hope to talk to you all enjoy and be SAFE I have many pix of shrooms tubs hydroponic chemicals need in the extraction of cactis , anything I can help I am there take care all- the chozen1 |

i typed in something researching mush cultivation and it popped ...a forum from this myco world and then i joined shroomery.org then i got tired of it and in hast i joined here to find an answer to a question and the responses were good enough to help me and join here ...now i'm like 3 months free of shroomery......a good thing thanks to my new family

I was a steady member for a while back in 2005- 2006. I’m thinking of doing research again. I love microbiology. Look up my posts “chefpjb1” Listen most people over think this. Growing our beloved fungi is easy. Stay clean, take your time, be patient. You can’t mess it up. Keep things easy and simple. It will work for you. Don’t let all these “high tech methods” confuse you. Have fun with the simplest fungi made from GOD New comers, just ask questions. Don’t over think. Just do…… This is intended for educational information. If you grow. It’s on your own accord. Not mine. |

I got turned on to growing shrooms by a friend of mine. He gave me a stamets book(awesome book by the way) and i read it. now i need more info. where to go fo info. introneto! search engine led me here. By the way I love to grow shrooms, but they seem to make me pretty ill when i take em so i don't. just sharing with my homies.

i think it was a combo of things. i love shrooms, could never find em. a FOAF started growing so i hit up ****************************************. never got any replys to my questions and in the 2 months that ive been here at the topia i have learned soo much. topia is just plane better that ST or the shroomery any way. nicer people, more knowledge, and we have hippy and they dont!!

An older friend showed me shrooms years ago, had a good time. happened couple of times again in the next years and now is time to grow some. I'm starting to study plants and mycology isn't included. I'll learning here with this great community, to eventually help more ^^ We're home-composting everything here and variety would be nice. I'm sure there's ways to grow mushrooms out of lots of things, just need to know about it. |

I was directed this way by a friend who also got tired of RR's clone brigade (seriously one of the biggest advice givers over there has no known grows under his belt, and just regurgitates his idols posts word for word). the other mushroom growing based web forum has gone stagnant, filled with small minded ppl who are totally opposed to any new ideas. the topiate's seem to have alot more ideas bouncing round, and a good grass section. thanks mycotopia |

I first joined this Mycotopia back in 2003-2004. A friend had ordered the PFTek kit from High Times back in the mid 90's and we followed it word for word. That was fine for a while, then we bought Stamets book "The Mushroom Cultivator: A practical guide to growing mushrooms at home" and it opened up a whole new world for us. We tried spawning PFcakes to straw but it wasn't working... so, we did an internet search and found this site. After reading Old Timer's tek for spawning PFcakes to straw, we had instant successs. Once we had success with that, we were hooked. We started to absorb everything the site had to offer... also learning and experimenting with straw logs, invitro jars, neglect teks, cloning, liquid cultures and all kinds of fun stuff we had never tried. The reason I love this site more than any other mycology site is threefold. First, I enjoy the experimental nature of folks on this site. Sure, there are many tried and true methods to growing our favorite fungi, but it's always so nice when someone has done something differently and had good results. One thing that comes to mind is the supercake formula. This has helped me tremendously and it's something I never would've thought to try. Second, I really like the way the site is organized. The information is organized in a way that makes sense to me and is easily obtainable. The amount of information in the vaults in incredible and I know of no other place that contains such a plethora of useful information for free. Third, I really enjoy the people on this site. Overall, everyone is kind and encouraging. It's nice having a forum to voice your successes and failures and to get sound advice from knowledgeable people. It's also nice to have a forum to discuss and debate other issues, not just mycology, in an adult manner. Also, the people on this site are hilarious!!!!! I had to leave the site in 2004 due to some really bad legal issues. But it's the people and the information on the site that made me come back. Long Live the Topia!! |

I am new to mycotopia. I joined because I am excited to be part of a community of like-minded individuals. I appreciate maturity, intelligence, and depth, rare qualities on many bulletin boards, but not here  .Greetings everyone.

Well i joined for info about mushrooms, deff got that. Then I found cacti and now there are plans in the works for that. And probably a ton of other projects in the future inspired by many. Just generally a chill place and like others said, none of the unneeded flaming on that other forum. |

I too came from shroomery, but eventually made this 'home'. I lurked for a while here but eventually got around to signing up. I like how there is so much info here all in one place. We can just about talk everything under the sun here in a adult manner (cacti, gardening, mj, politics, beer making, shrooms, music, experiments, lifestyles, news, entheogens, health, spirituality, BNL, computer techie stuff and the list goes on) The international community of people here are kind, like-minded individuals. The advice from users to noobs is always pretty spot on and seems well thought out. Hippie is good folk too and what he has done with this thing is admirable. I like the color scheme of this site too, easy on the eyes. The lay out of the site is cool too with the vaults, chat, reputation, profiles, albums, trading and the smilies lol. it really is a Mycotopia is why I joined! |
