I joined mycotopa because i am about to attempt my first grow. I bought a 20cc syringe of golden teachers and puerto rican from spore works yesterday. I have all the stuff to start i am going to do 2 bins with 6 cakes in each bin. I could really use some help with any useful info anyone can provide me with about everything just PM me. After this i would like to do a bulk grow so i could use all info on that as well. Thanks everyone i am really excited!

I'm here because I'm one of those people who can't stop learning, ever. I've been fascinated by plants and mushrooms since I was a kid. I'm an avid horticulturist and have recently begun propagating mushrooms after reading Mycelium Running--nothing complicated, just putting stem butts on cardboard and feeding tired mycelium with pasteurized wood chips to keep it going.

I love hunting for edible mushrooms, too. The mountain range I live in is a wonderful place for Boletes and Morels. We even have Suillus brevipes in our backyard! If we don't get thunderstorms, I water with the hose and they fruit. I do miss those Bay Area Chanterelles, though.

This seems like a friendly website and a great place to talk to people with similar interests!

I joined because honestly this seems to be the best resource out there for learning about something I'm quickly becoming incredibly interested in. Being somewhat a newbie at all of this mycology stuff I wanted to have a place where I could find answers (either by using the search function or asking )
Also from lurking I've noticed the people here seem to be mature, and some even have similar non ethnobotanical interests as I do.
Oh and that honey recipe on here somewhere with the gingko biloba, yea, that was awesome.

I joined this board because I am interested in DMT, grwoing Cubensis, growing dank bud and learning more about entheogens. I have grown Cubensis in the past but only using the PF tek, I am looking for a way to get better yields and possibly a semi perpetual mushroom grow.

i discovered mycotopia back in 2001 when i was 17. at that time i was entering the party and drug experimenting period of life. I've always liked the processes of using plants to obtain different perspectives in consciousness. growing shrooms was one of my favorite hobbies. i skipped a 4 year period of experimenting and growing when i joined the military, but now i recently became honorably discharged and am getting back to my old favorite hobby. The only thing i dislike about it is that it's illegal, my belief is that it shouldn't be and in my world it isn't, and i do consider this to be my world coming from my perspective. I just started my new batch and they are 50% colonized, i am doing a lot of experimentation with it this time around, for instance i mixed B+ spores with texas and inoculated a few jars with that, cant wait to see what comes of it.

I joined for the fellowship of kindred spirits. I've long been one to enjoy the psychedelic experience. I've attended many lectures and labs of Professor Ellis D Trails, a few even to the point of ego loss. I first experienced the sacred fungus a couple of decades ago and then around 2001-2, I stumbled upon PF's site. Holy shit! Once I realized that those little nasty tasting bits of heaven could be grown, I was determined to make it happen. Fast forward to this year and I finally decided to get off my lazy ass and make it a reality. I looked online and found this most awesome site and the beautiful people here. I'm not real chatty, so I don't post that often but I love that one can come here and feel right at home.
