Why did you join Mycotopia

Well I have had experienced many of the bad "stuff" in years past, but most just made me feel bogged down and most of the time felt half stupid. But I was looking for something that wouldn't carry side effects that would make me feel like I have felt in the past.

There was times in the past 6-7 years that I have been searching on the net(I've been a surfer sense 1997) that I have seen this site but choose not to come to it because I thought it would be a load of bull(I thought this of the other sites of this nature too). So I totally avoided all things like this because of the bull factor and my mistrust in anything that wasn't close to me(and most things that were indeed very close as well).

Well recently I bought some "Alice in Wonderland" shrooms and they happened to be bunk! And I found out latter it could kill me because they probably was not dried properly. And I figured that I would take the chance to learn more about the subject myself.

I found a company and thought...how do I know if these people were any good? Than it occurred to me to look on a blog to see if it was a reputable company and thats when I found myself here.

I have enjoyed all the information that I have received and I have been here I guess for a few weeks now. And I am starting to learn a lot of good things sense I have been here too. I like this community very much and I have have a lot of help from the people here which was my main point in deciding I will never leave unless for some reason it would close its doors. And I'm starting to trust it more every day (hence this post).

I hope I don't offend anyone here but i will most defiantly keep saying things like FOAF . But if I get to know an individual more than I might be inclined to actually talk with that person through other means.

Well to wrap things up I really love it here and I think this site was the best thing ever for the type of knowledge, and personal experience and interaction. Thank you all for allowing to be a part of something this special.

I read about shroom growing over 6 month all over internet, but I join there and on 1 other site. This site look best to me because of lots info, tek, atmosphere etc.

I still learn about shroom and English language.

Well I knew friends that where into this hobby,
and always had shit luck with contams.
I wanted to show them up cause I knew they
didnt know what they were talking about, and
always would act like dicks there way or the highway,
always right about everything type of people.
Looked around came here, and couldnt believe all I found.
Well went to try and get in chat,
and couldnt as a guest so I joined.
That was the best thing I could have done.
Cause then I showed those ass holes up.
And Not only have I learned a shit ton. about a lot
I am still learning and will be learning for years.
I also have met a good number of awesome people I would call Friends.
Thanks Topia def my favorite place on the net by far.
If only this was the kinda hobby we could take to the next step,
and that would be turn into one of those national things like.
The moose, or the eagles club, or VFW.
A social club with regular meetings and events.
Sad that will never be.

I tried once to grow off a print and did all I was suppose to. It didn't work and wonder if it was the temp. I tried a heating blanket. This was many years ago but no fruit just white stage and no popping. Was curious to check it out again. I am also into salt water reef set up and saw some lighting that looked interesting. Just feeding the curiousity. This place is full of all the info one might need if they were preparing for their first LSA trip, there's nothing like being well informed. There is a good supply of both MG and Rivea where I am and have recently practiced a basic extraction of 20 crushed Rivea in a shotglass of 180proof absinthe for 1hr. I wasn't looking for huge dose - just enough to know that this method works.
I wouldn't know how to rate the experience, no visuals, no distortions, no nausea or cramping. In fact I ate a meal 30mins after downing the shot and didn't feel anything for another 90mins. Then a noticeable and elevated sense of well being, smiley warm, empathic and conversational, maybe if it was amplified x5 I could make a comparison to that moment when you can start to feel the come-on of good clean pill. Looking forward to a much higher dose and completing a a/b extraction on the MG later.

I joined because i love mushrooms and have wanted to grow them for a long time now. When i finally did decide to grow, the syringe i bought didnt work. Then a foaf started giving me tips. Then when he found out my syringe didnt work he sent me prints, and said i needed to check out mycotopia. I didnt really want to at first cause i wasnt sure how much i would use it. but once he sent me the prints i decided to check it out and now i cant stop. im constantly reading new threads. Its real descussion that i like to read. I finally feel knowledgeable enough that i could have a succesful grow. thanks myco your the shit!

well i wanted to grow shrooms so the first thin i did was research for like six weeks on line learning all and absorbing everything(bad idea)

i dont know but from all the searches on gool with mushroom and shit liek that, i was generally given sites to spore store shroomey , sporeworks and shit like thta, plus random posts from various forums, then again ive never been to a .net or a .ca for those who know what i mean

now when i found this site, i noticed first off,

i felt way more welcome here than at the shoomery,

thier layout is like ice cold, this one is so warm and loving imo

then the first few weeks here, you guys started telling me that half the shit i learned from random sources on line were bull shit,

honestly, ive learned more about online research and compiuters from this forum than i have learned about shrooms and weed

hell ive learned more about life in general from just reading the new posts every day, than i ever learned
not reading the posts every day

After staying on the other board for a while, I found Mycotopia, and started trolling for a while. It seems to me, that the other board is best for tek discussion, while this board has the best community I've seen, hands down. NOT slandering Mycopotopian tek, of course, however that seems to be ALL the discuss over there, and sort of specialise in it. Over here, I see people making trades, contests, giveaways, talking about other types of growing, etc. Really is a great community.

And of course there's the BNL.

Well i cant remember where i 1st heard you could grow shrooms and get
a good trip with them but the idea of having a little stash of shrooms was
very inviting.
I 1st got a grow kit containig some jars and a syringe ect and it worked
perfectly, then if i remember correct i searched on the web for more and
stumbled into Mycotopia and grew my own with surprise results.
I asked every question you can think of and grew some nice shrooms all
thanks to the advice i was getting--thats was prob 2001 or 2002.

I've joined Mycotopia.net for many of the same reasons you all have, if not the entirety of them! I've experienced, and have become experienced, with psychadelics for the past 5 years or so... Now, I'm currently interested in starting my own growth and harvest, particularly (but not limited to) with mushrooms. I've been browsing through the forum for a few days now, trying to bring myself up to speed with the many methods and loads of information located here, in an attempt to adapt a process of my own for growing and put it into action! I am very interested in learning more, so please feel free to share anything you might deem vital for such a feat!

Also, I need a little help getting off on the right foot with the growing process... Any suggestions as to which process for growing mushrooms might be the easiest? Or, which process might yield the most results?

I'm just interested overall, so any additional help/info will be gladly appreciated!

I also just started some BRF cakes of R-44 from Ralphsters right before the weekend and already am showing signs of a terrific first grow. I originally found Mycotopia after doing a google search for DMTWorld, a lyceum forum of which I was once an member until it was shut down some years ago. I was curious to see if it had been resurrected or the justification for it being closed. I hopped in here, browsed a bit. Unlike the majority, my initial membership had nothing to do with mushrooms in any aspect, although having had experienced and picked them in the past.

Well, a few months passed and I found an interest in growing mushrooms. Until then, I had thought that growing mushrooms was one of the most difficult things in the world. While my mind hasn't changed even after a couple of minute grows, I've become well more than enamored with them in all shapes and sizes.

The way it has been and continues to operate is a big plus. Like a few others, I had lurked a certain other forum around the same time as this one and found that the sailing was not quite so smooth. A big kudos to hip and all the mods that keep it running, the information flowing and knowing how and when to step in, step things up, and otherwise keeping it a great community.

Got into the mycology world while looking for the experiences to help better my life. My life basically evolved around mycology for about a year. (Until my head could not fit anymore). During the this time I found forums. I've been here and there. And never found a place like this. There have been many times when I wanted to make a post to the members new and old (I'm sure they lurk too!), And tell them how smart they are. I have read many posts and I am overwhelmed by the intellectual properties that some of the minds here contain. You are also great people for sharing your ideas and research.

I decided to grow mushrooms in 2004. I order $400 worth of supplies, not including spores, from some website, and failed horribly.

After cultivating a relationship with a particular friend, I figured out what I might have done wrong and he directed me toward Stamet's TMC and the Shroomery. I didn't like the vibe over there from day one.

After getting "behind the scenes" so to speak, I met another friend that I thought really had it all down, and he was a Mycotopia member. He ended up not being quite as adept as I initially had hoped, and all of our combined projects failed.

Went to jail, got out and came here to see who, after 2 years, was still around. Tons of new, very active faces, some people that dun grown up since I left and are master cultivators now.

Then I got the urge again about the beginning of May, due to the fact that I was unable to obtain any sort of psychedelics.

And now I'm obsessed again.

I've never done hallucinogens - or any "serious" drugs for that matter, having always been rather scared of them - but lately, I've been reading a lot about tryptamines again, and I've always been fascinated by them, and what they do. It sounds like they may be just what I need to get out of my "rut". I'm still somewhat afraid of winding up in the funny farm, but I'm 33 and I haven't had any psychotic episodes or schizophrenia, so I should be relatively safe. If I do decide to try one, I'll probably go with mushrooms, and start with small doses. I'm here for research purposes, and to learn more about the psychedelic experience from people who've used them. I also have some salvia 5x extract I made with acetone, but I'm still afraid to try it - I tried some of the unenhanced leaf, but never went past the first "A" stage. Of course, the myco pr0n is also cool - I've always found mushrooms fascinating.
