I found these websites while looking for information regarding whether or not businesses are allowed to require a minimum purchase amount (usually around $10) when you use a credit card to pay. The answer is NO - they can't. It isn't illegal but it's against Visa and Mastercard policy to require a minimum purchase. So if you really want to be a jerk you can report a small local business who denies your $6.95 credit card payment.

It's in blog format, and some entries are more useful than others. What caught my eye were things like the telephone "Script for Escaping Cingular Contracts Without Fee Based on New Arbitration Clause". That is, a script to use on your Cingular telephone rep to get him to cancel your account.

Another entry detailed the price codes used at Target, so you can determine whether or not an item has received its final markdown or not. ALSO: If you have received a particularly egregious slight from a company, Consumerist may take up your cause and become a thorn in the side of the company that slighted you. Always good to know someone's got your back. Basically, just good tidbits to have any time you need to stick it back to The Man.

Sorry, I know it's not as cool as another drug link or free porn, but these are the sites I visit each day.

THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF LARRY CARLSON - Best eye/mind candy on the net. This stuff has to be viewed on a psychedelic to be truely appreciated.
