Pasteurizing Nylon, okay?

I went and bought a mesh laundry bag
but the bottom is nylon..
was wondering if nylon could withstand 170degree temps

It will work fine. I've used those types of bags before, though I past. at about 140 degrees.

thanks you guys
It worked just fine
at 165 degrees F
turns out the melting point for nylon is like 400 degrees or something

Off topic: odd you should say that freaky, i was arguing with doobs about
how 140of isnt enough to pasteurize anything.

Actually, 140 degrees is enough. "Pasteurization: A process by which bulk materials are partially sterilized by contact with live steam, hot water or dry heat at temperatures between 140- 160 degrees F for 1 to 1.5 hour.
cold pasteurization may also be done using hydrated lime or bleach ."

Yes, I like to keep the past. temp at 140 and not go higher than 160. Rarely I let it over 150, and thats if I'm not paying attention.
