![]() | First post + question Hi everyone, I first grew over 2 years ago using the knowledge I gained from this website and some spores from ralphster's. It was a great experience and now that I have settled down again, I have given it another shot. Unfortunately, it has been 6 days since I innoculated and the 2 year old spores aren't colonizing. Do spore syringes have a shelf life? Thanks to everyone who contributed their knowledge to this site and got me off on a good start. ![]()

![]() | I would imagine so, but I'm not 100% sure. I know I have definitely had a few here and there that took a very long time to colonize. I bought 4 syringes from a site that has since gone down, that took me almost a month before I noticed any significant colonization....So while I wouldnt throw them out yet, I would probably start a fresh batch.

![]() | a print generally lasts longer but seen many viable syringes that were a couple years old, don't give up yet

![]() | It must've been the good vibes, because I see the first signs of mycelium in three of 4 jars! ![]() That took 26 days at roughly 70 degrees F with 2 year old syringes. I guess these things have a decent shelf life. I'm working on an incubation chamber that will help with the temperature problem. Perhaps 26 days isn't even that long at that temperature??
