    Shpongle going on tour

Well shpongle is going on tour. I was tempted to hitch hike to cali or colo, but not sure if it will pan out. Only one way to find out. Let me know if any on else out there is planning to go to either of the shows.
    Always around,

While I absolutely LOVE Simon Posford's music, he plays one of the most boring pre-recorded "live" sets I have ever heard. I have seen him play multiple times, as Hallucinogen, Shpongle, Younger Brother, and he always looks like he would rather be in bed. His pre recorded music still kicks ass though. But as far as I am concerned, to listen to one of his studio albums, I would rather listen to it on a boom box in the middle of a forest tripping.
I think to put a little life into his performance, he is being accompanied by some jam band musicians that I would personally rather not hear playing over recordings of his genius music, so that's another deterrent for me to make it out to see him this tour.

Just my jaded 2 cents about the matter, sorry to dump it on yall.

No thanks for the heads up

It makes great sense, thanks for the info, and thanks for admitting it may be jaded.

Always sucks when you get disappointed like that. I guess such complex music can't be done on the spot. I've heard similar complaints about other electronic artists, who are just playing prerecorded stuff, new to the crowd or not, you have to sit there and either watch him pretend to be busy or just sit there and try not to be bored. Looks like he at least puts on a costume/stage show as well?

One nice thing about this is that if you can't make it to the tour, you know you're not gonna miss out on some kick ass improvised shponglations.

i just saw simon open up for the disco biscuits in NYC nokia theater. It was awesome hearing his music in that environment, but as yerba said it was just being played straight through. He kinda stood there looking through a binder of CDs. I was thinking "gee I wonder what hes looking for" then I realized he really just needed something to do up there. Regardless, it was sick to hear in that environment and that enhanced.
