![]() ![]() | Healthy (uncontaminated) jars can just be washed in dishsoap and re-used. When you use them again, you'll be re-sterilizing them, so they don't have to be perfect, just clean. Contaminated jars can be pressure cooked to kill contams before opening, or opened underwater in a bucket of bleach solution. Some stuff that contaminates cakes is nasty to breathe, so a little caution is good. Generally though jars can be reused forever (unless they break )

![]() | I found soaking in a bleach/dish soap solution of hot water, rinsing, running through dishwasher worked fine for cleaning jars. Contaminated jars were emptied and soaked outside so nasties didn't float around the house.

![]() ![]() | the important bit is that you remove them from the rest of your grow and open them far away (like outside). You don't want to spread that shit around.

![]() | Ok So if I do get some unwanted crap in my jars, First remove them from the rest of my jars and just take them outside and dump in trash. Or can they be composted in the garden or just best to send to Dump? And outside for sure, the video i watced made me think it was like some kind of hazordous waste thing, like 8 weeks later or somekind of bio warefare thing i mean the guy had a mask on and gloves put in a black trash bag and sealed it from the rest of the garbage. ![]() |

![]() ![]() | Personally, I dump my contaminated subs outside in a shady place and cover lightly with straw or compost. Hopefully someday I'll stumble across a patch of bonus boomers. I'm not too keen on throwing potentially incriminating evidence in my trashcan. As far as the health hazards, this stuff isn't going to melt your skin off or anything, but you don't want to take a big whiff of it either. Lots of molds can cause health issues, especially if you're already sick. A mask is a good idea, I know somewhere here there's a thread about the health risks of contamination, but i don't have time to find it now.

![]() | Cool so Take Resonable precausion but don't like get all Chem sute or anything just common sense. And so then it is ok just to recompost them into my yard. Easy fix.......and of course the bonus factor would be awsome. But i think my dog would eat the damn things first, She eats bird seed we put out on the patio. Goofy Dog. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | it seems i remember the safest way is to fill a bucket with water, add a few drops of bleach and open your jar under the water. i'm a lil bit more lazy than that... i head out to the corner of my backyard with a filter mask and dump it in my compost. i recommend wearing some kind of filter mask... when you come back inside, take your clothes off asap, maybe even before coming in if possible, throw them in the washing machine! shower foo. |
