    Platypus....

This is really cool. Aparently duck-billed platypus has recently had it's genome
mapped. They say it has mammal, bird AND reptile DNA, as well as having not just the standard two X/Y style sex chromosome but ten sex chromosmes!!!!

Well the things are just cool as fuck too. I love them. I laugh every time I see pictures or video of them, they are rediculous and cute like asian cartoons animals.

    Here's an article:

NPR is great!...never know what you'll be learning about, and I always feel that I'm being told the truth.

    a true wonder

yep the platypus is beautiful. A mammal that lays eggs? thats so cool. apparently when early european settlers sent back to the british museum the first preserved specimen scientists concluded that it was a mock up, a practical joke. saw a pair in the wild once (very rare to see as they're very shy critters). it was the most gorgeous sunset and i'll never forget it.
