    Badass Bombardier Beetle

So last night I was watchin this cool segment on the Bombardier Beetle on NBC or something and they were talking about how when Charles Darwin was a little kid he was hunting for beetles and had one in each of his hands and when I third was found he popped it into his mouth. He instantly had to spit out the beetle and was curious as to what happened. Anyways it has two glands in its lower portion of its body that combine and then are shot out of its rear at 500 pulses per SECOND. Like a machine gun they said. They just identified that this was the beetle darwin ate. Or so they believe. Check out the video of this frog. Never seen that kind of expression, and what I thought was cool was that it can shoot forwards, back, and side to side.

Notice the bright colors on the beetle.

Don't put brightly colored insects in your mouth, they're either poisonous or taste really nasty.

If its camouflaged that means it tastes good/is edible, I mean why else would it try to hide?

Chemical defenses in the insect world are certainly fascinating. I'm glad my farts aren't that bad...
