    Red Friday

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red

every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be

called the "silent majority". We are no longer silent, and are voicing our

love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not

organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage

on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to

recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea

of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect

starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday until the troops

all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded

American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every

Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with

acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long

before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once

"silent" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the

    media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things

better for you?" is...We need your support and your prayers. Let's get the

word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear some thing

    red every Friday.

IT IS YOUR CHOICE. WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE,

    ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE.

Sounds better than sticking a made in china magnet on your gas guzzling suv for sure. However, when have those of us who support our troops been a 'silent majority'? I know of absolutely nobody who doesn't support our troops. Nobody. One must not confuse a lack of support for government policy for lack of support for our patriotic young men and women in uniform.

You mention god. If by wearing red, we support the troops, country and god, aren't we supporting the enemy contention that the war is a crusade? If religion and politics are left out of it, I'm all for wearing red. However, if it ties a religious statement to support for our troops, I'll respectfully decline, but continue supporting our brave soldiers the way I always have. Got a link?

    seems to me
    it's not really support,
    it's just lip service.
even worse it's using people's natural sympathy
    for politics.
    ugh.

if you really support the troops
    then i suggest you actually
    DO something,
    like spend a fucking dollar,
    to send
christmas goodies to the front line.

it costs nothing to wear red. just like it costs nothing to say "i support our troops." i doubt that soldiers in the desert, many of which are on food stamps taking serious risks daily care about the color of our t-shirts.
unless things have changed since i was in the military, they care about home. that means girl scout cookies, and football games, and metallica......
i believe ill check out that link.

    hey lefty-
i have said this before but maybe a re-fresher is in order-
this forum is not to be used for
    partisan political propaganda.

    i'm not paying $200+ a month
so you can copy and paste
    every piece of democrat-liberal
political crap you can find here.

i'm open to hearing what YOU have to say,
but if you just want to stick up
    political talking points you found
    then plz take it elsewhere.

this site is not going to be used
by either side of the political divide.
    so can the memo-gate stuff,
the bring our troops home stuff too
if you didn't write it yourself.

    tell us what you think.
    but no more copy-and-paste plz.

I think 'supporting our troops' means enlisting or reeinlisting, volunteering for Iraq duty, and once there, proving that support with an attitude of teamwork and emotional/psychological strength to stand strong while 'in the suck' and do one's job without being overcome with distracting thoughts of how nice it would be to be back in CONUS with Mary Jane Rotten Crotch after beating Jody's ass.
Providing the leadership to perform that job without becoming bitter and/or creating problems by misusing the power of having a machine gun in your hands or of being a guard at a enemy prisoner of war camp is an essential task that few are able to do.

Wearing a red tshirt doesn't do anything other than give money to the person selling them. Just like the person selling american flag stickers for your car, or those ridiculous yellow ribbons. When you were in grade school, did it matter how many 'my child is an honor roll student' stickers your parents had on thier car? Did you even know it was there?

At the very least, writting a letter or making a phone call to your congress persons/senators to at least find out what thier stance is would be a bigger step. You don't get any recognition, but I guess you could make your own sticker- "I called my congress person and complained about something today".

I gotta agree with BM here, if you really genuinely support the troops, go actually support the troops!
If your like me, and would rather not get shot at, but really support them, send care packages, or fund care packages, and harass (the correct) politicians to raise active duty pay, or harass those same (correct) politicians about funding for body armor and armold vehicles.

To top it off, might as well harass the military in general for spending billions on experimental crap instead of stuff to keep our soldiers alive, that pisses me off to no end.

Am i going to enlist? Hell no, the last thing i want to do is get shot at fighting in a middle eastern sandpit, but i have a lot of respect for the people who are there keeping it real.

Now if a fightable group (can't fight gorilla terroristic "warfare" with a full frontal attack, it just doesn't work) or nation were to actually invade the US, It'd be a different story, as much as i may hate our government, it's still my damn country.

Plus, i don't own any red shirts.
