Grow Box Exhaust

Thought this might be of use to those of you interested in small, stealth grows.

Supplies:
<!--[if !supportLists]-->·<!--[endif]-->3” to 4” 90 degree pipe adapter
<!--[if !supportLists]-->·<!--[endif]-->90mm computer fan
<!--[if !supportLists]-->·<!--[endif]-->Silicone
<!--[if !supportLists]-->·<!--[endif]-->12 volt adapter

First, cut the corners off of the computer fan, so that it is able to be pressed into the 4” end of the pipe. I find that a dremel cutoff wheel works well for this.

Make sure the fan will blow in the desired direction when you install it, and apply silicone around the edges of the fan. This helps hold the fan in place, and also forces all air to go through the fan, not around it. Personally, I like to run the wires through the pipe, so make sure the wire placement is correct before installation.

Connect a 12 volt adapter to the wires. Make sure to connect the wires correctly or it will not work, and make sure it can handle the power of the fan.

NOTE: A filter can be attached to the 4” section of pipe. Just make sure the fan is powerful enough to move the desired amount of air with the added flow restriction.

Unfortunately, I did not get pictures of the construction, but here is the end result.

A couple things. First, you can wire in an Attic Fan thermostat so the fan will only run while it's too hot. Second you can get box fans in several sizes and flow rates to adapt this exaust tek to any size grow.
