I was wondering what they count as weight. Foaf only wants for personal use so he dosnt seem to think he would ever have 10 lbs. Do they count dirt? I read they count roots in another thread!How many plants does one think would equal over 10 lbs growing only 3 feet tall?

in my state a rooted plant constitutes 100g or actual weight which ever is greater...

There are no rules despite what one might assume or have heard.
I have seen them continue to cultivate seedlings until the trial so that what were 4 leaf clovers had since become trees. Makes a lot of difference to a jury.
They will weigh dirt, confiscate garden hoses, whatever they like and darn little one may realistically do about it. They are holding most but not quite all of the cards.
Just don't get involved with them at any level is my advice. Of course, you do want to remain informed but have no illusions that you will escape from them the victor.
Even if you ostensibly win, they retain 'records' of same and charges do amount to guilt whenever you are again in their system, want a job, or try to buy a gun or even redeem your own gun from a pawnshop. And it's forever. No more moving to another state and starting fresh as in my era.
The true penalties for any kind of cultivation is extreme. DON'T get caught is the only solution. Don't be 'served and protected'.
You are welcome to buy all you like with only token handslaps although even those types of arrests may keep you from such ordinary trades as schoolteacher.

As far as the 10lbs goes, it dosent really matter how many plants you have, but it matters the pigs that bust you, and the judge you get.
Often they will rip the plant up roots and all, and the weight of the enire wet plant is what they'll go with. If they wanna be complete ass holes they may even be able to get away with weighing the soil, and adding that to your total weight.
Then you gotta worry about the judge. The big 2 questions are is he in a good mood today? And how naive is he? Judges are usually the biggest yuppies you'll ever meet, they are as square as a block of wood, so often they dont know the first thing about the market. Thats where the DA or whoever tells them a grossly exagerated street value of the product, and since he dosent know first hand, thats what he'll go by. Plus he's been spoon fed tons of anti marijuana propaganda, so he dosent look at you like someone who wants to grow/enjoy beautiful/safe flowers.
Basically the systems fucked! I almost shit my pants when I saw the penalty for growing in my state. But it's a risk we each must decide if we want to take.

rgr dave thats why foaf is trying to keep at a min. IT says in foafs state up to a year for up to ten pounds for culti so i just want to keep under that.
