![]() | One of the plants, a Sadhu, has rooted, the roots are visible on the side of the cup. The other cuttings are still alive, but I am not sure about the roots. Nothing visible yet on them. I might transplant the Sadhu tomorrow, it is already way behind schedule. BTW, has anyone had difficulty rooting Mandala breeds in water? This is the second time that I could root cuttings in soil that just would not root in water. |

![]() | is there a air stone or bubble disc in your cloner also you can add a little bit of peroxide not much but a little helps add oxygen to the water and some people add a tiny bit of superthrive but i havnt had much luck using ST for bubble cloning. take care norcl21 |

![]() | Sadhu clone of a clone. 8 days since transplanting. Its on 24/0. ![]() 25 gallon rubbermaid grow chamber w/ lid being used as a platform with ventilation holes. ![]() Inside view. ![]() This setup allows the fan in the lower half to help the fan in the upper half ventilate the chamber. There are 3 CFLs in the corner where the plant is sitting. When the plant is transplanted into a 1 gallon pot the plant will be moved to occupy the end rather than the corner. CFLs will then be added to cover that end of the chamber. |

![]() | The plant on the right is grow 3, a Sadhu clone. The other two are clone mama's of Sadhu and Bagseed, but if Hashberry doesn't come to life one of them will move on to grow 4. They are growing nicely if I might say so. The plant is on day 22 and just got transplanted to a 1 gal pot yesterday. I will look for some bigger pots for it. ![]() ![]() |

![]() | I found a 3 gal pot. The height is not so much taller than the 1 gal pot. It will work perfect. I think I will give the roots a week to grow into the new soil and then transplant. I think I will limit the plant to 10-12 colas this time. I hope that it will allow the light to reach further down the stems. |

![]() | She got transplanted to a 3 gallon pot today. She definitely needed more space. Call me foolish for not heeding the expert advise sooner. There is still plenty of head room for the plant, 17"-18". She is on track for a terrific grow. It will be interesting to see how this affects the yield. |

![]() | The plant got re-trained to spread the longest branches way out. The bush had to be carefully packed into the chamber. Several inches of tips should straighten out over the next couple of days. Then if possible, a screen will be put on. It looks like more colas is better than fewer, so hopefully this will kind of even out with at least a dozen colas. Or maybe all the tips will get barbequed. ![]() |

![]() | Well this is a happy and not happy post. The grow location was not secure enough for me so it had to go. I still have 2 newly planted clones of Sadhu and Hashberry, but their ass is grass if they don't find a home. I will miss growing those plants. This sad demise did not have too big an impact on this grow. It was getting close. Sorry no pictures. The plant grew into the walls and the CFLs. There was a lot of heat damage. One bud got the zap real good. It looked like hell. It got cut up at a little over 8 weeks of 12/12. This grow was done in a 3 gallon pot and it made a huge difference. The plant yielded 373g of bud and 88g of leaf(13.2oz, 3.1oz) wet. This is 50% better than the best of the previous grows done in 1 gallon pots. This was done in an 18 gallon rubbermaid chamber under 6 23W CFLs. I expect the bud to dry to a minimum of 2.6oz dry. There were some low 40s F nights in the last couple of weeks and the buds started to darken with that purplish kind of tint. One of the two ventilation fans was turned off just let the air warm a bit more from the lighting. Sadhu bud from the previous grow has an aroma that is very similar to Hallertau hops used in German style lagers. I bet a lot of you guys would love the smell of a brew supply shop, especially the hops case. It has a light floral smell that quickly goes away after it is taken out of storage. This grow will probably yield at least 12.4g per CFL(23W), or 1.7oz/sqft, or 18oz/m^2, or 520g/m^2. I don't know if that is worth a crap but it was done with soft white CFLs and a bigger pot. I wonder how much increase would happen with an even bigger pot given the constraints of a rubbermaid grow. The roots covered the walls. 18 gallon chambers can probably accommodate 8 horizontal CFLs and I think it would be worth trying out wrapping clear plastic film around the CFLs. 3.5oz per grow might be possible. A Santa Ana condition will be keeping the humidity low so the bud should loose a lot of moisture over the next several days. I have it double wrapped in 2 brown paper bags. Sadly my growing days are probably over for the time being. So now I have to take good care of it. ![]() |

![]() | Yield from CFLs This Sadhu grow yielded 73.1g(2.58oz) of cracker dry bud. 6 23W CFLs were used to flower the plant over about 9 weeks at 12/12. The 18 gallon chamber had a reflective roof of 1.54sq.ft(0.143sq.m). The Sadhu plant grew in a 3 gallon pot. Electricity cost $0.10 per kilowatt-hour. So here is some good CFL data: dry to wet ratio is 0.196 12.2g(0.430oz) per CFL(23W) 47.4g(1.67oz) per square foot of grow space 510g(18.0oz) per square meter of grow space 0.70g(0.025oz) per kilowatt-hour of flowering light energy 7.0g(0.25oz) per dollar of electricity $0.14 per gram (flowering power only) $4.0 per ounce (flowering power only) It is hard to estimate the power and cost for vegging because of the way plants get revolved through the vegging chamber. Doubling the above cost numbers is probably a reasonable estimate for the total grow. For those of you who are wondering how big a CFL setup you need just: Take the number of grams you want to smoke every nine weeks(11 weeks for you couch lockers) and divide by 12. That is how many CFLs you will need to build up. Of course the bigger CFLs will require less. Divide by 35 for them. The bigger CFLs are probably more efficient too so that divisor is probably bigger. Example: 3 grams a day will need a 16 23W CFL setup(6 max 65W CFLs). (3grams/day)*(7days/week)*(9weeks)/(12 gram/CFL) = 16 CFLs Enjoy your grows. I hope I can grow again. God damn the cannabis laws. |
