![]() ![]() | pretty much the only different thing yuou have to do is make sure your pots are raised off the cold floor ( if on a cold floor) ..... other than that... yer set... I like growing indoors in the winter better anyways.... everything is cold and frozen outside, and ya got lush green ladies in the other room My favorite!!!plus. you dont have to worry about as many heat issues.. you dont have to worry about someone stumbling upon them and ripping them from yer hands... most windows are closed up and shit for the winter, making it even safer.... and when ya want yer plants with purple tendencies to really go purple on ya.. you can put em somewhere for their night cycles and have a window cracked a bit....... close the door so yer not waisting heat... and a week or so of that and theyll go really purple on ya. (ps.. I only do this with strains that are known to go purple easily)..... sometime only a few nights is all the need) (Jilly bean is gon get that treatment this winter )If yer gon be growin this winter.. I can tell ya..yer most likely gon be growin the rest of em. lol ![]() ohh, also... those 2 cfl's will work for awhile.. but ya might wanna add another one or 2 in a bit. Bless, Ras

![]() | Thanks Bro, i have been looking around and i know you know your stuff. i have a 400w 2-way MH/HPS but i have never used it in fear of a fire. since i'm doing it in a closet. Will it be ok if i just have a fan blowing on the bulb. or should i just stick with the 150 cfl's and the reflectors MY BIGGEST FEAR IS A FIRE. i don't want to lose everything i have for some weed. (feel me) but im not stupid and i know my stuff. but i have never grown before i know alot about it but never done it. i just don't want to make a mistake with that light since i have never used it, but i guess i won't know unless i try it. well any advie would help. i can use the whole closet it if i have to... iLL p.s sorry but i like to double and triple check all the steps. p.s.s is it better to germ in a cup of water or just a paper towel. |

![]() | Start with the CFL's and let them grow up a little bit. Then see if you can handle the heat of the 400W in your room. If you can, switch to the 400. I think one 400W light is better than having two 200W lights. I put my seeds directly into soil and add water and wait till they pop. Keep the seeds warm and moist and out of the light. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | If you have a 400 watt light in a closet with no ventilation, it will get TOO hot. You really need a fan (not a osc fan but an inline fan) to remove that hot air. Run your lights at night, when you are mostly home. That way if there is a fire, you are there to combat it (or perish). I keep one of those remote temp gauge monitors on my night stand. I keep the temp gauge reader in the flowering chamber. That way I can monitor the heat in the flowering chamber (where heat issues are more likely to happen). I used to have two, one in the veg chamber, but they would mess with each other's signal, so i stick with one now, but you can always move it if you are curious to the temp in the veg chamber. Also you can read the temps during the dark cycle without letting light in on your gals. Fire extinguishers are good... but make sure you can get to it, and make sure you know how to use it. Fire extinguisher will do ya no good inside the room on fire. I have 4 in the house, and 1 in the car. Also, fire alarm placement is important too. A fire alarm will do me no good in the hall way of my grow room... because my fan sucks all the air out of the room too fast, and directs it all into the attic. By the time the hall way one figures out there is a fire, half my house would be down. SO... I put one in the attic near an air condition duct. Have a friend push the button and make sure you can hear it. hope that helps some friend! |
