    Post Plan(ned) Plan[t] Growth

Thank you for reading this. My friend is looking for any input. Thanks again.

    The Grow-space:

About ~7 feet of height to max-out, about ~4 feet wide and ~2.5 feet deep.

Ventilation for heat will be thorough and not an issue. Wattage must be watched, and can be maintained at a ‘reasonable’ level.

    The strains:
www. mandalaseeds.com/html/faq.html <-- going by this, they all look great.

My friend is definitely going to do Satori; but would like to pick one other strain by Mandala. She is thinking a more indica-based strain. Anyone have suggestions, going by the Catalogue descriptions or their own experiences/tales?

    Potential:

Plan A: Focus on one strain, with the full grow space dedicated to one [maybe two? Or three??] plant(s).

Plan B: Potential grow-space split into two: Left and Right: Definitely Satori and one other strain by Mandala. A bit cramped though?

    Lighting Situation-

How important are Lumens? It was stated:
http://forums.mycotopia.net/grassroo...tml#post440198 (the jesus does herb... setup/growlog)

Is there any type of general consensus on this topic?

Light Hood(s) with reflective wings. – Make one, or buy one?

Mylar on the walls? What else could be placed upon the walls to maximize the reflection of light?

    Plan:

    A
    . Singular, full-space grow:

    Always – 4x 55w (250w equivalent) CFL
    Veg – 2x 175w MH
    Flower – 2x 200w HPS
Total watt consumption (TWC): 570w Veg and 620w Flower.

    B. Split grow, Per side:
    Always - 2x 55w (250w equiv) CFL
    Veg - 1x 175w MH
    Flower – 1x 250w HPS
TWC (per side): 285w Veg & 360w Flower.
TWC (combined): 570w Veg and 720w Flower.

How could one arrange for the maximization of CO2 into the grow-space?

Grow in dirt, 2-3 gallon pots.

Anyone have recommendations on a very high quality dirt/compost mixture?

My friend is trying to piece the plan together. Any and all suggestions, please.

    Thanks again, for your time.

Ok buddy. If you can find it, get 'foxfarm ocean forest' soil. It has TONS of nutrient in it and will keep your plants healthy for a long time. Get the 250w HPS light. BUY the hood dont make it and get one that is aircoolable. If you would like my advice, get a 400 watt HPS for ur flower cab and leave it at that.
If its your first grow, sticking with one strain makes things much easier , ie same nuterients, similar growth etc.
LUMENS ARE CRUCIAL. they are your limiting factor inside when everything else is otpimal. You cant grow pot without light, you want approx 10,000 lumenes per sqaure foot during flowering.

That space would be good for 2-3 good sized plants. Start 2 times as many as u want though cuz u will get males..

My friend will try to find this soil mix, and/or Pro Mix.

Just 400w HPS? You're saying DON'T keep the CFL's going throughout, alongside the HPS? Wouldn't they contribute to:

    One strain it is: Satori!

Also, what to do about reflective walls? Mylar 'worth' the $$?

    Direct CO2 infusion <-- do or don't?

u can fower under cfl but dont get your hopes up of a great harvest. u want at a minimum t5 flouros but hid/hps switchable system is pro. only 300 bucks for the whole set ready to plug in from sunsystems. can run hid and hps off same unit.

Is there a huge difference between MH and HPS?

    Too good

Would acquiring most of the items from here: sfbay. craigslist.org/sby/grd/466546559.html be worth it overall?

Would that be an 'advanced' setup?

If one were to have a setup very similar to it, how much more productive would it be vs. just good lights? Say a 400w HPS alone vs. the most practical of that list.

MH is for veg. high in the blue spectrum. hps is fullspectrum/red for flowering.

Ah, it is understood. Many thanks.

Also, what is known (or thought) about: EcoGarden Supply :: Environmental Controls :: CO2 :: Excellofizz (15 pk)

What is it made of would one reckon? Is it effective in a closet-type grow? Could it be homemade?

*edit: Anyone ever try a 12/12 light cycle from the start? Sativa (see: Satori) strains seem to do pretty well, by this guys:
www. icmag. com/ic/showpost.php?p=1333585&postcount=39 results. Any thoughts?

    Thanks again.
