Acetone Hash Oil

Ive had some good results making hash oil with acetone.
Ive heard conflicting reports on the health aspect of doing this.
any thoughts?

I hate acetone for oil. Nasty stuff to inhale and flamable. I bet you inhaling a good hours worth of acetone while "cooking it off" is much worse for you than pot ever could be. I know because I have inhaled it...

Have you ever considered bubble bags? Just floating ideas. No chance of fire, no chemicals to inhale. If you really must use solvents try and do it outside. Think about your health. Do not breath the vapours of iso, butane, ether or acetone. Later in life you may regret it if you do.

if you've prepared it properly and all the acetone has been removed from the final product, there wont be any acetone left to cause heath concerns. if there is still some left in there i'm sure its not good for you, especially if your smoking it.

I let it sit outside to evaporate,
i like it because its a very easy method
soak,drain,evaporate.. i usually do a second soak with the material.

Ive experienced some truly heavenly essences this way.
it seems to completely rip every single bit of oil from the plant.

Ive heard some speculation that hardware store acetone may not be good to use, but ive never noticed any residue when i evaporate some by itself.

some things ive noticed..
The dryer the material the better.
Grind the weed up really good in the blender so it more compact..
u wont need to use as much acetone this way.
The large sun leaves add a bad waxy flavour to the oil..
i dont use em
i always use glass containers..
you can let the soaked weed sit for a week or
as little 30 minutes and still get product
when i do the 30 minute method i help it along by agitation

The acetone available in the USA has some crap put in it to make it smell bad. Pure acetone is fruity smelling. I have also noticed that there is usually a small amount of something that leaves a film after the acetone has evaporated.

I probably should have assumed you are using reagent grade acetone. Expensive but good.

Go to Williams Sonoma the fancy kitchen store and get a stainless steel baster,COLIBRI butane(in the silver can!!expensive but clean),something to act as a screen where the bulb WAS,a pyrex dish and some frosty trim/nugs/popcorn buds/commersh. Do it outside,purge the butane with a hot water bath and then pop the bubbles.dry scrape and marvel at those green domes rise in your pipe...

No matter what solvent you use.... I'd wash any extract with Everclear(Ethanol) before I ingested it.....A good way to clean butane honey oil for sure and I'd bet it works for acetone to....
