Amazed by The Ease of The Arts of BHO

So SWIF finnaly managed to round up the supplies to make SWIF's 1st BHO extraction.
SWIF went to to Williams Sonoma the fancy kitchen store(which incidently is a good place for N2O chargers and cannisters)and found Stainless Steel Turkey Basters for $22.99 each. If one was to pop the bulb of rather inconspicuously, and slip the now hollow dildo into their pocket they could HYPOTHETICALLY save themselves some$$.Of course, this is against the law,a sin,one of the commandments etc. etc. so it's up to you if you think stealing from a large overpriced corporate chain store is wrong. SWIF recommends using 2-3 of them so maybe your morality comes at a price.....

NEXT,SWIF went to the smoke shop 1/2mile down the road and purchased Colibri Butane 2.75oz. cans for $4.99each. Expensive, but worth it if you want a quality result at the end. The more the merrier so do what yr budget allows.

I also stole a hose clamp off my pool pump for a few,and used that to clamp a screen over the end where the bulb used to be.SWIF also usually either stuff a ball of cotton or line the inside of the screen(before placing over baster end and clamping)with an unbleached coffee filter(s).

Of course, this is done after filling the baster with your plant materials.

On the opposite end of the baster, where the butane nozzle will be inserted,SWIF used a red plastic nozzle tip they found included on the inside cap of a can of cheap butane. McGyver what you can.

SWIF already had a Pyrex casserole dish(SWIF's 1st mistake-SWIF should have used a Pyrex round pie dish instead...much easier for scraping out your material)and that was cleaned well, then wiped clean with an alcohol soaked(91%Iso)cotton ball and then allowed it to completely evaporate.

Now the plant material is the most important component of this Tek,and should be treated accordingly. The higher quality of the material you use,the better product you will get.

You can get good results with nice sugar trim, and other trichrome covered scraps. Little popcorn nugs usually found on the lower less-light receiving branches will step things up a bit more. Of course, for the best quality possible, use those frosty nugs you can afford to throw in. Some report an almost clear oil from material like this. Mix them up,use that sac of beasters or mexi-brick stress you can't stand, and even moldy buds are safe and worthy to use. Make sure the plant matter is BONE DRY before adding, since moisture can cause problems, wasteful AND potentially dangerous. Break material up slightly, and stuff into baster(s) until you feel the first sign of resistance.Baster should be packed but not stuffed.

*Side Note-some people like to use PVC for their vessel, rather than the baster or the O'Kief Extractor but I would be wary of what chemicals and toxins that the butane may pull out of the PVC. That's up to you but be SAFE!! Of course, you should not be smoking,or have any flames or sparks anywhere near you while doing this, and be sure to be outside!!!

OK,after filling your baster(s) which hold around a 1/4oz. each, clamp your screen/filter in place and move your Pyrex dish outside with your basters,Butane and an oven mitt(that baster will get so cold that it can burn you!!

Make sure before you are ready to begin, you put a large pot of water on the stove to heat up(but do NOT boil)while you're working outside,so it can be poured into some sort of basin/container large enough to sit yr dish in after extracting for a hot water bath.

Ok,now you are holding the first baster over the dish, screen facing down and with your free hand insert the Colibri can nozzle into whatever you contraption you Mcgyvered and depress can, emptying the cans contents until empty, allowing the butane to drip into the Pyrex dish below. I usually add another 1/4-1/2can before moving on to the next baster(or finishing up. Make sure you hold the baster over the dish, shaking up and down periodically until no more butane is dripping out.

Now go inside and pour your HOT but not boiling water into yr basin and bring it outside. Place butane dish down into it enough to submerge bottom of dish but NOT spilling over the sides. You will see the butane boil as it is purged out, doing this for a minute or so,then remove and allow to sit in an open-aired debris free area for an hour or so to finish drying. Inspect the dish for tiny little bubbles, and using a clean pin try and pop ALL of them.If you find this too tedious, you can use a butane torch lighter to heat the underside of the plate, beneath the bubble spots as this will work as well. Set aside until dry.

Now using a clean straight-edge razor, carefully scrape up the brown/amber oily snot like goop and keep it in a small vial until later use.

Just a few drops of FDCM oil will leave even veteran tokers legless when vapourized or smoked in a bowl atop a screen in a glass pipe or a layer of some sticky-icky.If it rises when heated creating a 'clear dome' that melts completely when gone, leaving a little white ash(if any)when puffed alone.

Good oil usually clocks in around 50%T.H.C.,while even some of the kindest of the kind rarely reaches 24-26%. Top-notch taste, safer on the lungs due to the small amount needed when smoked . Some scoff at the idea of smoking something extracted with butane, but if you use a QUALITY brand like Colibri then what little may enter your lungs(if any at all)is minute in comparison to when you use your bic to spark a bowl, especially when inhaling deeply.

    Enjoy........
