Is resin production related to heat during growth?

Is resin production related to heat during growth?

Will a plant grown at 74 deg produce resin (Trichs) at the same rate as one grown at 84 deg? Or does heat have little to the process?

    You shouldnt notice a difference.

Of course this is a general statement, as different strains may prefer a hotter or colder enviroment, and this relates to the overall health of the plant.
Above 90 or so, the thc will start to breakdown.

Also resin production and thc content are seperate things.
a resinous plant may be low in thc.

Hummm, it was kind of hoping it produced the resins as a sun protection

    UV does that, not heat.

74 degrees and your plants will be much happier than @80 something....
Try n keep your temps between 70 and 75 if possible.
then towards the end you can add cold nights for more resin production.
    heat isnt the ticket

I plan on adding a little ice in my tubs towards the end of the flowering phase
My pots are sitting in tubs and if you can cool the roots a bit you should get purpleish budds
I read it somewhere and i am going to try it
My kitties are missing tonight and i hope the mexicans didnt steal them again *pretty worried

you want the plant itself to get cold more so than the roots. cold roots will just slow growth more than anything.. ... cold plant itself (vegetation)will turn purple..depending on strain..

hope you find your kittys.. mine is outside to and its its freezin n snowin...lol
    hes FAT tho..

    Talking

What i read is if you can make the root system a few degrees cooler it will promote the purple buds
But it is winter time and i have my off light cycle set for nitetime so they might purple up on their own
The lowest temps at night wont go lower than 65 because i live in a tropical climate
I am gonna try it anyway
My plants are 3` tall now and have been on 12/12 for about 14 days now
It is time to get my carbon filter powered up

    No kittys yet *sad
