    cheap CO2

if you have a small enclosed grow like mine and you dont want to buy a huge ass co2 maker, this is an option for you. i was turned on to this by a grower that i met and he told me about it. simply get a small plumbers torch that burns propane pr a lantern that burns propane and run it for a few minutes at a time several times a day. NEVER LEAVE IT UNATTENDED. only do it when you can sit down with it for a few minutes out of our day. keep the heat away from the plants. co2 is heavy, it will sink to the floor. be safe and keep your children(plants) happy

why not mix yeast, sugar, water in a 2L bottle and let it give off CO2 all day safely?

Must not put out enough volume as a torch?

I tried using one of those candles in a jar. I didn't see any difference either. I think you have to have a tightly sealed room for it to make any difference.

So the exhaust gas of burned propane is CO2?

Welcome to Global Warming. As Hippie pointed out about GW, more CO2 more weed.

Thats the ticket but with a tightly sealed room but your plants might suffer from insufficent fresh air exchange

Oh, I thought the output gas would be carbon Monoxide.

there may be some monoxide produced if the flame burns 'dirty' [lack of proper fuel-air mixture]
    a torch is unsafe though,
    when i did this
i used a coleman camp stove with a tank of propane
and just lit the burners on it,
useful esp. in winter cold months for extra heat

Did supplemental CO2 result in a measurable increase in yield?

that's not quite how it works-
    CO2 enrichment speeds up growth
but only if the plant can actually use more.
    that boils down to
all others factors like light and nutes must be high enough
that the growth potential is held back by not enough CO2.
thus only if it needs more CO2 will it use & benefit from enrichment.
the room needs to be sealed well too else it'll all leak off.

So given that all the ducks are in a row the extra CO2 will get the crop to mature faster but not necessarily yield more. Are we then talking about shaving a few days off a 9 week flowering time?

or let it still get those extra days to gain weight thus increasing
    yield over time.

my room is not sealed in the least bit. i have air exchange up the ass lol. i heard that is one the most common problems. so hopefully they are benefiting from the lantern, but if not it just gives me an excuse to chill in my green room and observe haha
