These seeds are from my last plant grown from natural seed. I dropped the seeds in water and the next day they sunk to the bottom. After the soaking, I put them in good draining soil. I put the seed tray under a 400W MH @ 80 degrees. The light is on 24hrs. It's the 3rd day, and 9 out of 12 have popped! |

There's nothing in the soil and I won't feed them for about 3 weeks. I'm going to use what I have. I bought the fish emulsion at home depot and the big bloom at my local hydro store. The water bottle is a home made mixture of miracle grow tomato fertilizer/acid loving plants fertilizer/fish emulsion/ and big bloom. For a light start, I'll give them the fish. Then I'll switch to the mixture I made for the veg stage and hit them with the big bloom for flower. |

I usually add about one tablespoon per gallon. ![]() They seem to be stunted. I haven't noticed any growth in their first few days. I have them in a cold room so the light is on 24hrs for heat. I may have to bring them inside and put them under CFL's. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | They seem to be growing slowly. I was too lazy to bring them inside, but I’ve been checking the temps more frequent. I’m not using a fan, only the light for heat. I think they are getting better. You can see the new leaves growing inside. Out of the 12 seeds, 10 popped. I gave up on the others and let them dry out. Ten is more than I can handle with a 400W. The problem with growing from seed is that you have to grow your plants for a long time before you find out if they are male or female. |

nice, yes temps do affect the speed they grow at. i kept some plants miniscule by growing at 50 f for a month. same plants at 70 f needed to be transplanted after a couple of weeks. good call, i went by watt rating and 9 plants are really to much for a 400w. next time i think i will try 6, but it(9-10-12 of them) would be good starting from seed since you will be removing about half for flowering. good luck.

I had seedlings that were only a few days old around freezing temps for over 3 days. I turned off the light and left them for dead. But they didn't die. Then I turned the light back on.They started slow but grew into nice plants. With a 400W, I clearly saw the difference between growing 6 plants and 3 plants. The 3 plants were much larger. I'm hoping. So far, it's been about 20 out of 20 for females. These plants are from the same batch of seeds. | |

are you gonna pollinate at least one for seeds or no? i like taking clones off a female so that i can skip the seed germinating/seedling stage and save some time.. just curious what month do you think you'd harvest? goodluck |

Nzo, I know it takes time, but I enjoy the seed germinating part. It's fun to watch them pop up and grow. When I want seeds, I don't pollinate. I get them from females without any males in the room. Like I said, I'm not hoping for males for pollen. I'm not trying to get seeds out of these plants cause they are feminized seeds. But If I get seeds, I won't throw them out. Harvest date will depend on how long I veg them due to the amount of plants. At least, I want to veg for about 6 weeks until mid Feb and then flower for 8 until mid April, so I would have some dried smoke about a week before May. I should have some nicely cured White Widow by Memorial Day. |

They are still growing slow. Sometimes the temps are at 60, and sometimes it's like 80. The weather has been up and down. I moved them to pots that are WAY too large for them, but I HATE repotting, so I just want to do it once. I actually spent some money on this grow and bought 6 "perfect pots" at my local hydro store. They are square so you can get the most soil under the light. |

Yeah, it was a little early for them. And on top of that, I had already mixed in a bag of miracle grow when I transplanted them. I was worried about over feeding, but the leaves haven't shown signs of that. I gave them a little bit of different things to try to find the defeciency. I think they will be ok. My other problem is the large pots for such small plants. |

" I moved them to pots that are WAY too large for them, but I HATE repotting, so I just want to do it once." That's your slow growth problem right there . I used to do the same thing , for the same reason . Sometimes it worked okay , but sometimes the growth would slow to a crawl or even stop completely . Nowadays I go from clear dixie cups , to 1 gal. pots , to 5 gal. pots . I wait until several roots are up against the edge of the pot before re-potting to next size up . There's a logical reason for working your way up to the big pot......but I can't remember what it is ! The plants just seem to get so involved in root-making that everything else slows down or stops .

Yeah, I know what you're saying. But I feel they have grown pretty good in the last week since I repotted. The hardest part about working with an overzized pot is the watering. And the larger pots also keep them further from the light causing slower growth.

i think one of the reasons for smaller pots is overwatering, since the plant isnt using all the water very fast and a bigger pot holds more water. the other is (some will disagree) that being slightly root bound keeps the plants nodes closer together. a little stress is good for them?

Actually the nodes are pretty close together and the plants are only 2-4 inches tall. ![]() I was considering single colas but now after looking at it, I'm ready to chop the top and grow out four branches. Since the plant is low growing, I'll try to spread them to an open center. They have a sunburn cause the light is too close. I don't want to turn the heater $$ so I keep the light close. That's why they are growing low, they don't need to stretch for light. The room is cold so I'm trying to keep the roots warm. I think that's why they had a slow start. |

Thanks. Do both guys up north smoke or just you? ![]() This is the first time I'm trying Miracle Grow. I mixed in one bag with the soil I had from last grow. I bought two bags but figured it was overkill. I like that they are getting thick for their height. Because of the Miracle Grow, I may not feed them till flower. |

i have always been scared of using potting mix thats already fortified but it works if you are carefull i guess. plus its to expensive for me really. the place where i get my soil didnt have much of anything so they ordered it for me. just picked it up, 40lbs of composted manure and 40lbs potting soil for like $6 someting. i love ACE. we both smoke. i would consider ourselves light smokers anymore compaired to how either of us used to do it. just a joint in the evening usually. |

Thanks! ![]() This is what's left from my summer Widow. I waited way too long. There's no way I will be able to stretch this bud till harvest. Summer harvest lasted me over 5 months of daily puffin and lots of sharing. I figured the gap in between will make me appreciate what's coming that much more. Weekly pics in a few days! |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey haze, for those of us that have probably tried White Widow but never knew it's real name, what's it taste like? Is it Piney, Skunky, Citrusy, Fruity, Musky, or Whatever?

Thanks Fahtster! Pro, I can't describe the taste, but I agree with what Nzo said. After several months, it still stinks every time I open the lid. I can't tell the difference between deodorant and cologne, but I'll say it smells skunky. Nzo, Yes I've been bending them to allow the light to penetrate and encourage more branches. I split one open again. ![]() WhiteHaze |

Thanks Mr.M! I'll get back to you on that.I have the plants around the light so that new growth comes from the side instead of the top. This allows me to keep the light lower and closer to the plants. I removed a lot of large healthy leaves to allow more light to the interior of the plant. I bend the tops back when I visit them to limit their upward growth. I pinched off some of the lower shoots that were shaded and growing slower. I think I will give them another 3 weeks before I switch to 12 hour darkness. |

nice looking. i am considering hanging my light verticaly in the center with the plants around the outside. i will still have to turn them but it is an idea. now i have to read the instructions again to see if that is possible. some lights are only meant to go one way or the other. i dont want any major disasters. ill do a little update next week, they are 61 days flowering on the 20th but i might let them go untill the weekend.

Hey TGUN, ![]() I think you can pick some now @ 8 weeks and then some more at 9 weeks and finish up on the 10th week. See if you get different highs. However you decide to do it will be fine cause there's no beating dry home grown bud. Right after I took those pics, I moved the plants and the light position. I'm preparing for flower and moved them to the lower side of the room away from the door. Trying to cut down on heater cost when I switch to 12/12. The light is sideways now. The left pic is the old position and the right is the new position. |

nice. i wasnt getting the heat issue thing at first, lol, but now i remember. yeah, i was planning of leaving some of the bottom buds to fill in some more. i can say i wont let them get that tall again, before flowering. they should have been ready at 8 weeks(they were last time) but i was noticing new growth even at the top buds, so i put it off a little. |
