    Digital vs standard ballasts

Are the energy savings claims made by digital ballast manufacturers accurate? does running a digital ballast of the same wattage save even close to 40% energy compared to a regular one or is it one of those advertising word games. still uses the same amount of energy but puts out more light. i've seem claims of both from the same ballasts so i'm just wanting to make sure its worth the extra money.

Go digital and never look back. But get a high-quality model, the $$$ is worth it in the long run (and for that matter, the short run too). Watch out for the ones that aren't "true" digital as some manufacturers do play word games.
