Anyone growing green MUST READ!!!!

Ok, here goes. I am surprised that almost none of the growers are doing this. You all need to get yourself a Kief box. I am including some pictures of a few so you can get the idea of what they can look like. You can get one at almost all head shops or I'm sure that you can order one online.

First, you trim up all of your plants. You end up with a lot of trimmings with some THC crystals on them. Some people throw that away, some people smoke it, some people turn it into butter. Throwing it away is just a total waste, and it hurts me to think of all the good shit being throw away by so many people on a daily basis.

Once you have all of your trimmings you dry them out really well. You don't want to use heat to dry them as that will significantly decease the THC. Just lay them out on a table and them them air dry.

After they are all crispy you stick them in the freezer in a ziplock bag for 24 hours. After 24 hours, take them out of the freezer. Depending on how many trimmings you have, you may only want to take a little out of the freezer at a time because if you have a lot the trimmings will end up unfreezing. (Important that they come right fr5om the freezer to the kief box.

There is a tool that some people use to press the leaves to the screen. I found that is just a waste on money. You hand works great. Put a bunch of trims in the box and press with your fingers. Rub it back and forth and a bunch of powder will fall through the fine screen. Most kief boxes have a plate under them that all of the crystals fall through to. The more you run, the greener the kief will get. I used to get mine pretty green.

Scrape up the crystals with a credit card and put into a vile like the one I am including a picture of. In a vile this size I could put .75g to 1g of powdered kief. You want to tap it down and load in the vile, tap and load, keep doing this until it is very full. Don't pack with any instrument just pack it by tapping it. I decided I couldn't part with this any more, so I only kept it for myself from then on out.

Kief is very concentrated THC. It will FUCK you up. Takes you to a whole nother level. You have never been so stoned. You can load a tiny bit on top of a bowl of some dank ass stuff and it will make it even better or you can load it on a bowl of some mexican dirt shwag weed and all of a sudden you got dank. You can even mix a little with tobacco and roll it up.

The vile picture I have posted would give me about 50-75 caps of bowls.

Short story: I went over to these FOAF hose with 2 of my friends. The FOAF's were huge stoners. There were 20-25 people at this apartment. A huge circle was going around. Anyway I busted out my kief. No one had ever heard of it before. They loaded a bowl and I capped it. After 1 person hit it he passed it. After the second person hit it I would cap it again. Sometimes I would cap it after 3 people even hit it. I did this until it went all the way around the room and everyone got a nice hit of my kief, maybe 2 hit each, but I think I only gave them 1 each. We had top leave for about a half an hour. (the bud the were smoking by the way was either middies or shwag, I wasn't impressed as I was growing White Widow, Skunk, Northern Lights, Jack Herrer, and Holy Grail). Anyway, when we came back to this get-together 30 minutes later there were only 3 or 4 people left. They started accusing me of lasing the bowl with acid and they said everyone was tripping and left. They were pissed off thinking that I gave them acid. I explained to them before they hit it that this shit was no joke. They said everyone left because they were soooo fucked up.

Anyway, have fun with this. I am jealous of all the growers out there as I don't grow anymore. I can't wait to start up again though. God I miss the kief.

Oh, I had a friend that was a fellow grower. What he did was made a press that would press the kief into Vitamin C type pills. He would then just break off a tiny bit and cap a bowl with that. The press he made himself. I personally don't recommend this, I like keeping it in a vile as a somewhat compact, but to compact powder.

In addition to doing that, wear latex gloves when trimming. Let the gloves set a few days to dry or put them in the freezer for a couple days, then I put the gloves back on and rub my fingers together over a half pint jar. Lots of trichomes collect... I also scrape what collects on my trimmers. And if you use lots of quart jars to cure like me, it pays to take a guitar pick and scrape it around the bottom of the jars... lots of shit there.

No, you can still smoke them or make butter out of them. I'll probably post a MJ butter tek later today for anyone interested in making "special brownies" or cookies. The trims won't be as strong once the trichomes are removed obviously, but they will still work.

The best way to use trichromes is to vaporize (same with all weed, but ESPECIALLY with trichromes).

The majority of the cannabinoid's (I heard 70-80%) are destroyed when you combust the plant matter, vaping this shit gets you unbelievably high, trust me.



What you see there is called the 'shake and vape', you put whatever you want to vaporize in the bulb, gently heat the bottom and inhale through the pipe. Soon you will be getting a continuous stream of strong vapors.

I like that pipe. I had plenty of kief though. We had hundreds of plants so it was in abundance. That pipe looks a little like a meth pipe, lol. With the trichomes you could probably do the whole lightbulb thing, I bet that would work to vaporize it also.

If you get enough kief it can be made into bubble hash or regular hash very easily..

If you got mad trim, its way better to get bubble-bags and make some high-grade bubble-hash. But if you are limited on trim, kief collecting is very nice, and pucks of hippie-crack are always fun. However if you got a garbage bag or two full of trim and stalks, get bubble-bags, you wont be sorry.

SWIM is thinking of doing this with at least 1 full plant, bud & all but he could use some additional ideas on revaporization?

Idea #1: Using a baloon to catch the vapor then submerging the baloon in a cold water bath. (Too wasteful?)

Idea #2: Direct the Vap discharge to a honey/water solution (so the honey wont be solid at 40deg F.) then let the honey dry out?

Idea #3 (My favorite so far): Use about 90, 2' lenghts of 1/2' copper tubing connected to a manifold on either end, thru wich cold water will be circulated. Place the tubing array in a big ole' Rubbermaid bin with some Duct Tape to seal the lid and pass your gas thru it, later scraping the chilled crystals from the tubing?

100% agreed. I enjoy kief sure everyone does, but also im sure we all love hash more than the kief. Everyone once and again though its nice to have a bag of kief to break out. Still like I said I'd take the hashish over kief anyday.

Man I love kief. I was stuck with a bag of some shwaggy shwag recently. Dumped a whole grinder's worth of kief into a schwag joint. I haven't been that stoned since I started smoking. Kief's great when you can't get/make hash.

Vaporizing is pretty nice. I used to rock the lightbulb back in high school. I recently got a Vapor Brothers model, very nice. Has some cool-looking LEDs on it, which are great when the vapo-high kicks you in the head.

SWIM had a ton of trim and made a huge kief screen (pretty simple, only a square frame with fine screen stapled to it) the screen was probably 2 foot x 3 foot . this guy duct taped 2 big "wand " hand massagers to the frame of the screen and filled the screen with frozen trim and a bunch of marbles for aggitation. Hed let each batch run for 12 hours

this saved a lot of work shaking ! the results were awesome.

Like was stated earlier freeze your trimmings then take a quart jar (most of us already have those) grab a pair of your darlings pantyhose, a rubber band, a mirror, piece of glass, something along those lines, and then dig deep into your sofa and grab a quarter or two.

Put the trimmings in the jar and add the 1 or 2 quarters. Rubber band the pantyhose to the top of the jar (make sure it is only one layer). Now shake over the mirror. Easy huh, it is not as pure as using a kief box with a silk screen, but a lot cheaper.

Actually if one were to save up an ounce or so of stems / trim, it's definitely worth making hash oil. Stalks are worthless though.
