    MJ outdoor

    Hi!

SWIM is gathering information about outdoor mary jane , SWIM will be having containers for the plants and they will have 13 hours sunligh for vegetative stage,, my FOAF cant figure out what to do to induce flowering,,, SWIM would like to harvest in a 5 months period max, 1-2 week seeding. 2 months vegetative and 2 months flowering, the problem my FOAF faces is to induce flowering cause you work indoor you change the ligh-dark period,, could my FOAF provide a cover for the afternoon sun to increase the dark period,....
what do you think?¿? can SWIM cover the plants by placing a black nylon on top of the plant or SWIM should avoit touching the plant at all, maybe making a block for the light trayectory ¿? what do you think
a question about marijuana growth.. where SWIM lives got no fall, we have a rainy season when it rains.. it raines, how could this affect the flowering stage of the plant? sunligh hours are 12 with drecreasin in september to december, SWIM would like to harvest ends of september...

another question... is how would SWIM knows when the flowering stage is ending,, must check the thc glands for an amber or red color and if at least 3/4 of the plant looks that way SWIM harvest,, ¿ do all depends on the strain SWIM is usign right? not ¿?¿ or should he wait until the plant stop flowering,, can FOAF do something to make this flowering process faster?¿

    thanks appeciate any comment
    peace

hello there. my herb experience is mostly indoor, but maybe i can chime in with some tidbits. first, mycotopia does have a whole MJ forum, grassroots, where more peeps are on the lookout for these kind of questions. you might want to post there in the future. you can induce flowering manually outside, like you're suggesting, by covering the plants with some kind of light barrier. this is a pain in the ass though, as you have to be there every day, twice, at exactly the right time to cover and uncover them. your other choice is to let nature take care of it. the plant will switch to flower as the nights grow longer. you say that as fall nears in your region you get 12 hours of sunlight, which is perfect for flowering. although only 13 hours of light for veg is kind of low; indoor the suggestion is 16-24 hours of light for veg. another option is to get an autoflower strain, i believe lowryder and early girl are autoflowers, and i'm sure there are others. these will flower independent of the light cycle, when the plant reaches maturity. you are correct about checking the trichromes being the most accurate way to tell when a plant is "done", though different people have different preferences for doneness. Trichs begin transparent, then turn milky/cloudy, then amber. When the majority are milky, you'll get the most THC, thus a more "heady" high. If you wait until you've got a bunch of amber, some of the THC will become CBD (i believe), giving a more laid back body stone (couchlock). It's a matter of preference; I pick earlier to get the up buzz, 'cause I'm not a couchlocker.

    :)thanks

do you think smaill containers will shorten a tall plant by not letting the roots get bigger? the idea is to mature a plant in a container not that big, almost like doing the bonsai thing but without cutting the root,, how can SWIM stop the plant growth if height is a problem.

    thanks again!

LST , or bend it over and tie/stake it down to keep it at the height you want

restricting the roots could restrict the yeild

well, when I didnt transplant my plant, it stopped growing until I did transplant it
if height is a problem, then top it.. dont top it if theres pre flowers on top,
LST is a PITA IMO but some people do it, sometimes my plants would fight the lst

5 days straight of rain has caused me problems with outsiders, during my budding phase!
the leaves turned down, like over watering, and the roots started to rot!
