    Interviewing Jorge Cervantes

Hey, folks. I work for a small magazine in Olympia Washington & I was recently sent on an assignment to interview Jorge Cervantes. I thought that he was going to be pretty hard to get ahold of, being the man that he is, but he actually e-mailed me back the day after I originally contacted him & now I have to interview him for the next issue. I can think of a couple good questions to ask but I'm too contentedly ignorant right now to deal with the task at hand & I was wondering if any of you seriously dedicated folk here in the GrassRoots could give me some technically impressive things to talk about (think "hydro-atomized nutrient aeroponics" or "D8 trans-tetrahydrocannabinol"...things of that nature).

    Thanks.

Nice one. I should have seen that coming.

I actually read a fair amount of MH:TI/OMGB, & the problem with it is that it doesn't leave a lot unanswered. This might seem a little dishonest, but I'm just trying to do an interview so that the magazine can have something to brag about on the cover...I have a lot of respect for Mr. Cervantes & his work but having his name in the article means more than what he actually says because if people really are curious they can just read the books or the magazine articles or watch one of the DVD's themselves.

It might have been a mistake on my part to ask for "technically impressive things to talk about." That sounds a little foolish & I only ever wrote it because I didn't want anyone to come up with some metaphysical shit or a question about his music tastes or something like that...I know a lot of y'all are into music & metaphysics over here & I just wanted to try to reap some benefits from your knowledge base without working up too much of a sweat. Is that so criminal, Mr. Shr00m?

I'm not trying to beef...if I could've responded in person I would've said "jerk" in a little Sam Elliott/30's detective voice to soften the blow. I actually thought it was a legitimate comment & I was kind of scrambling for dignity. You know how it goes.

Well, the best question you can ask a man, who works in the leading edge of his field
is "what's new" and "what has changed" ,both scientifically and philosophically ...

    Welcome to topia btw..

ask about the advances in the breeding feild,I dont think that he has produced much on this, if it has advanced and in what way has he seen advancement in the last 5 to 10 years, what he thinks of the new strains compared to the old,
if there has been any other research on Cannabinoids or the other chems that bind to cannabinoid receptors, see if he knows anything about the development in the unique group of secondary metabolites
there is much than can be asked of a man that gets to legaly research it
how about his most potent plant?

@greenie: I went to marijuanagrowing.com, clicked on "How to Interview Jorge?" & wrote him a polite, grammatically double-checked
message that explained my situation. He gave me the OK less than 13 hours later. I'll definitely be posting that article once it's done, too. Hopefully there'll be some pictures.
@GrassRoots: Thanks. You guys are good people. I'm not gonna forget about y'all when I start making money.

maybe ask his opinions on the new LED craze vs. the proven HID success.... i've read a few things by him concerning Compact Florescent lighting most of which boil down to 'they provide the minimum necessary requirements, but..."
anyhow anything the guy talks about is pretty cool...

though you'll then have the challenge of putting in words his great ideas
