![]() | depends on if the fan is for air circulation or air exchange i find that even when the lights are off(i use a green light) and i check on them there is like a little micro climate around the leaves so i like to have the air constantly moving around in there , not like heavy huricane wind but when i see a few of the leaves rustling , i know theres enough airflow now i dont think plants transpire as much when the lights off but i dont think they stop completely too

![]() | update Well, just wanted to update on a couple things. First, I had posted before about the # of segments on leaves and their importance. Now on day 19 of flowering I have 11 plants, 10 with 7 segments and 1 with 9 (the really bushy one that spent a little time outside and was brought back in to flower with the rest is the 9 parter.) Secondly, I changed my fan to low. They are not blown over looking in the beginning of the light cycle now. I must add that in veg the fan was just lightly rustling the plants, but when we moved the fan to make more room for flowering it was making the plants shake a lot more and I think it was to hard on them for my liking. Anyway, I haven't gotten too many pics the last couple days but, here is some of the nine parter. I am thinking of trimming that one down a bit. My problem with it is, it is so bushy that the nodes don't get any light because of the large and numerous leaves and thusly it only has a couple flowers that are small by comparison to the other plants. My concerns are the various open "wounds" that are vulnerable to infection (but that note that I do have a ac filter on the return air vent that is exposed to a storage room with no door,) and other shock the plant may endure from the process. Any advice about trimming that has been successful for you would be very much appreciated. As I am nervous about cutting up my most beloved girl.

![]() | A tucking good night Well, we tucked the plants. It did open up the plants quite I bit. I have noticed that the plants with the most buds have sun leaves that point upward and are spaced further apart ( one's in back). But here's some pics of the ladies after we tucked them. ![]()

![]() | update Well, the girls have about doubled in size and are really crowded. So, we decided to go ahead and trim them up since the canopy was so thick. They are just beautiful and the tall more sativa like plants are budding all over with white dime sized nugs. Their nutes where quadrupled since my husband had to water them for me while I was in the hospital, but they seemed to like it and like I mentioned they are growing very rapidly with no indication of over fert 2 days after watering. Let me tell ya it was quite a shock to see my babies after about 4 or 5 days. They had to been growing like a inch a day.

![]() | update and pics Well, on day 31 into flower, only one plant (the short, bushy one that we're calling more indica) showed signs of over fertilization. It has yellow spots at the end and edge of it's leaves the whole length to the plant. That one got fresh, pH balanced water to flush it out. The rest got a regiment of flowering fertilizer, molasses, Epsom salt, and h2o2. Overall, the ladies are doing very well. We have a problem though. The squirrel cage fan helping to exhaust the hot air has broke and the temp is rising to around 100 degrees. That is with the exhaust fan hooked up to the mhl running and the nine inch high velocity fan blowing on the plants. We need to figure out how to cool it off in there until or if we can fix the squirrel cage.

![]() | Looking very good, I just have a couple pointers. First, try to stay away from pre-fertilized soils. They almost never feed the mj right. Second, get rid of that tin foil, it will create hot spots. Try painting the surfaces flat white, or getting Pand or Mylar film. MJ was my first passion, and your seem to be doing quite well. Keep up the good work. |

![]() | Pictures of the ladies There really isn't anything to update on. The plants are about the same and freakin huge. We got a new camera so that's another excuse for all the pics. I have heard of hot spot from the foil. It's not going to change this late in this grow though. Plans are being articulated for our next grows. The lights we're using right now are not ours. But we are coming across some florescent ballast(local grocery store is renovating). This grow is a practice run and it has been going good and I've been learning a lot. I love all the input from all the members here.

![]() | Heat Stress!? Like I mentioned before the squirrel cage that was sucking out hot air in the top of our room is broke. What we did to revamp is to put the 9" high velocity fan in the hole of the passive return air vent to force cool air in. So far it has dropped the temp from 110 to 90(temp at bottom of plants), but that is still kind of high. It still looks like the plants are too hot. We also raised the lamps since the plants started to look "sick". The sick plant with the top curled and yellowing leaves is in the middle and the tallest plant. The other plants just have curling leaves. I have included a picture of a leaf that was on the floor. I have had some dead leaves falling off the plants, but this one was different. It is light green on the edges and yellow towards the center with a small segment that was dried while the rest of the leaf was still moist. I am thinking it all has to do with the heat. I should also mention I have not done anymore co2 treatments but it has crossed our minds that maybe since the temp is lingering at 90 that some co2 would be beneficial. FYI the plants were feed and watered on Friday and we were out of town all weekend. The first pic is kind of sucky, but what is going on is that there is a vent attached to the mhl and a vent suspended to suck hot air from the top of the room. Anyway, the buds are looking good. The RH is staying at 70%. I have a couple plants just barely starting to bud out. Last night my husband and I were debating over whether one was a late male since it looked like female flowers with no hairs. This mourning it has just started to show some hairs though. So it's all good.

I wonder if dry ice would lower the temp in the room. We were talking about putting some dry ice in the return duct behind the fan. At any rate high temps with co2 enrichment are good even if the dry ice doesn't cool it down.

![]() | I was just reading some cannabis articles and it just came to me. I have mentioned before about the number of segments of my leaves. Well, to update I now have two plants with 9 parts(bushy indica and the one we almost thought was male) and they both are flowering at a slower rate. They are just starting to produce hairy buds while the other low numbered (7) segmented plants are covered in white hairy bud. I also should mention that the buds are not showing up in the pictures very well. In real life, I am blessed with bright white haired plants. It is the lighting and close together plants throwing the pictures off. Not to mention my new camera is only 6 mega pixels, but it was free and better then the one I had. Man am I talkative today. I'll put some pics up tonight when the girls wake up.

I should put more fans in the room if the temps are above the 90's or in the 90's Do you mean fans circulating air in the room or fans circulating air through the room? Hope I am not being a stupid stoner and , but please help a girl out and expand upon your thought for me.

![]() | OH I get what your saying I totally missed it. Yeah the light cycle is at night and the room from which air is being drawn from is in the high 70'S low 80's and cools off from there, right now. That (adjacent) room stays pretty cool. The room the grow room is in gets as hot as the grow room from the exhaust air. Maybe need to better ventilate the shed in order to lower the ambient temps. Thanks procell
