if you've priced them, than you know this is cheap

basically you just need
container ( size depends on how many sites you need)
air pump ( i got a bigger one than i need, but it has a dial to turn it down )
air line
air stone(s)
neoprene plugs ( i used pad intended for kneeling in the garden )
net pots ( optional, helps keeps roots away from neighbors )

if your container is clear than you will need to make it light proof
black plastic paint or duck tape ect...

if using net pots than make your holes in top of container just big enough for the lip of the net pot to rest on top of the lid

if not using net pots makes holes slightly smaller than the plug you intend to use

i used a drill bit the size of the air line and put two holes in the lid ( so i wouldn't have to waterproof the holes )

that's pretty much it decide what length air line(s) you need cut them and slide them through the lid. hook the air stones on the container end and the pump on the other ( best to keep the pump above the container incase of power failure as this will prevent backfeed of water into your pump).
