![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Liquid Cooling Cool Tubes
I was having a heat problem that some extra fans would have fixed, but I stumbled across something I've only seen mentioned once - a contraption to fit onto a Cool Tube that, coupled with a small water pump, pumps water through tubes to run in-line with the light exhaust. I'm excited to see how these work - I expect they'll work quite well. The plan is to use a few packs of cooler packets - you know, the blue block that you can freeze and then stick in your cooler. I'm going to put those in a bucket every day (or maybe twice a day, who knows) in hopes it'll help keep the exhaust from the lights a little cooler. Something that occured to me while typing this is that if the air's still moving slowly across the light, these might not help too much. At any rate, it'll be fun to see how useful these things are. I was about to start addressing my hot summer temps, but I think with a little tweaking this is going to work well. |

Just remember that you're introducing liquids to a pretty beefy circuit. Make sure to take safety precautions installing and using such a device.

The ones that fit down the exhaust line. Unfortunately due to space constraints, two liquid cooling units will be sandwiched between two lights, instead of light > cooling > light > cooling as is recommend. I think it'll still help considerably though. I think the goal's going to be to keep the water reservoir at 65 F. I'm about to go off on a nag/photo shoot mission, so wish me luck. Hopefully I'll come back with some pictures. |
