compacted soil, overwatering, nute burn/destruction. 40% finely shredded canadian sphagum peat moss 50% chunky perlite, and 10% vermiculite (aka promix or sunshine mix potting soil, or another seedliong mix called "jiffy mix' is PERFECT for mj starts...) then the only other thing promix contains, or your pottin soil needs, is, beneficial mycos, and starter fert (organic or syntetic, such as promix BX which contains a starter fert keeps the plants goin 2 two weeks to a mth without ferts, i prefer fox farm (www.foxfarm.com) peace of mind DRY FOOD to mix in, or promix bx brand which HAS a ff p.o.m. type foood already mixed in) also known in bulk bags as 'promix', this fluffy potting soil, when uncompacted in beer cups with PLENTY of drainage holes, fed lightly with PLAIN water the 1st two weeks and lighting (fluoresccent, 1-3" from tips of plants witha fan rustling the foliage gently to prevent burning should the lamp get too warm which is rare) will accelerate plant growth exponentially. you have an anaerobic root zone, start over with promix with added perlite to fluff it even more, or buy the jiffy mix starter soil, do NOT overwater, and keep your fluroescent close like an inch away and a fan lightly circulating air over the tops and youlll be good. jiffy plugs, peat plugs aka, are a great way to start seeds easily too. just be sure if mixin yer own mix use hydrated lime to balance the peat moss' slightly acidic pH! promix brand already does it for ya tho and jiffy mix is MADE for seedlings, so find that at the nursery if u can all it is is verm perlite and lime |

AND NO LIQUID FERTILIZERS TILL THE PLANTS ARE DEVELOPED AND SHOW SIGNS OF NITROGEN DEFICIENCY ON THE LOWER BRQANCHES/SETS OF LEAVES! YOURS ARE TOO FUCKED UP TOO YOUNG TO BOTH ER WITH START FRESH ONES ASAP! ![]() NO FERTS *AT ALL* ARE NEEDED 1ST 2WEEKS OF PLANTS LIFE THATS WHY THEY HAVE COTYLDONS, THOSE PROVIDE THE SUGARS AND SUCH EEEDED BY THE PLANT AND WHEN U SEE COTS FALL OFF AND LOWER LEAVES YELLLOW, YOU CAN HIT WITH SOME NITROGEN LIGHTLY |

Hi Gary, I'll echo the good advice you've been given already and add that I've seen this problem a few times in previous grows, I've always put it down to overfeeding the cuttings/seedlings. In each case, they never fully recovered and were eventually replaced with new plants. As cap quite rightly points out, there are other potential causes too. This happened with my very first grow, it turned out I'd stunted the growth with love ! Since maintaining cuttings/seedlings on half strength nutes (or less) I've never had this problem occur for at least a few years now. | |
