![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | LED Growing With The Current TEK
whats up you buncha heads? I'm just postin some led stuff here. The pics are from my current 300 watt led grow. The small plants have been in flower for 3 days under 300 watts, and were vegged for 20 days under a single ufo-90w.The strains are blueberry, la confidential, nightshade, blue hash, california hash plant, and a weird mystery greenhouse sativa clone. The flowering plants(2) are the same mystery sativa.Grown in ffof soil, and using Pura Vida nutes. The equiptment is 2x 90w illuminator ufo's-4 12w 1w diode white led fixtures (pure white) and 1 50w 660nm red ufo.The wavelengths used are 460nm,430nm,615 nm, 660 nm, and of course the all important white leds- til we know exactly which wavelengths is which proportions are needed white seems to do the trick. Some things to consider- hps is currently more efficient-yes, I said it - taking cost and the richness of the hps spectral output- more intensity, more lumens per watt. But thats what folks like me are working on. I've got a ton of led pics from my experiments over the last year-let me know if ya wanna see em.peace

Very nice! A lot of us have been curious about LEDs as grow lights. I'm sure that costs will be going down, and wouldn't be surprised to see LEDs competitive with HPS soon. HTGS has a UFO-type 90-watt light, with improved spectrum, for under 200 bucks. They claim it's comparable to a 400w HPS. ![]() If it's even close, that's pretty damn good. Considering there's no need for extensive cooling etc., it could be a pretty good deal. Wish I was in a position go give it a go.

the little gals are from feminized seed-4 days into flower, 24 days alive total. The sativas are 8 1/2 weeks into flower, the big gal has a ways to go, a greenhouse seeds feminized sativa-supposedly used as breeding stock-very sensitive to nutes-almost killed her 2 weeks ago, didnt think she'd make it-but there she is, minus some fan leaves but still kickin out nugs.

As you said, it's a maturing technology, and some are going to sell equivalent products for a lot less money.

Honestly, I dont think ANY led product for growing shouldnt have been sold until like the new high power leds we're available.Thats like 3 years of ass pounding, courtesy of the led grow people.600 for the first pieces of shit that hit the market. And people bought em!!In droves-they made a nice profit on something that didnt work.Hence their are no real "haters" for this technology-just cautious consumers, and rightly so-99% of the shit out there is trash, sorry it just is.

Oh boy, I love technical debates! LED current balancing is a good idea in general, and pulse-width modulation is the most efficient way to regulate current. I'd bet that both units use PWM for the main regulator. However, regulating the current to individual LEDs in the array doesn't assure that each LED will have the same light output. And that's not necessary anyway. It's the average light output of the array that's important. So, I contend that if prosource really is regulating individual LED current, it's a waste of money. Do you have schematics or literature for the two units for comparison?

Can't argue with experience. May be shit quality parts in the cheaper one. That certainly makes a difference, no matter the design. I'll have to amend my first "equal" statement to include part and assembly quality. Personally, I've had good luck with HTGs stuff, and their customer service. But everyone's mileage varies. Anyway, damn nice grow.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | They were the 5mm diode panels-thats why I'm being unfair, I mean they coulda found a decent supplier( theres quite a few from my understanding) and the price-tag seems about right-I looked into it after the fitst bashing I gave them here, and couldnt find any meaningful tek specs-but they could easily e-mail them...I'll look into it.

thank you. Gave em a light feed -5ml Pura Vida grow-5ml Pura Vida bloom-5ml epsom, they seem to have responded well. This is the first time I've used fox farm soil-so I'm starting at 1/3 strength Pura Vida-very ph friendly stuff-every other watering-for now.
