You might want to put your lights a little closer to the plant.
Looks to me like it's stretching a bit in the bottom pic.

Is there a particular reason why you're flowering them this early on?
If you veg em out for a while, your yields will be much greater

How many plants does your friend have total?

What kind of lighting are they under?

How big is the grow space?

Oh, I have no sure, but...

1.he have 3 plants

I've done 12/12 from seed before... it works if you're really really limited on space... but yield was iffy... got about 7gr / plant with Ice strain.
If height is an issue, look up some threads on using a screen for scrog.... Prism123 used a screen in a previous grow log where he just used it to push the plants shorter.... was a great intro to SCROG for me. I use the method in my clone/veg chamber before they go to the flower cabinet.
They're starting out great though! Tell your bud to keep up the good work.
