Items around the house you can feed to you plants?

I was wondering about a few items.

Is the water in the tuna fish can good?
I had some other items but i forgot what they were.
How about dead bugs you find around the house?

Anything you feed to your plant should be composted first...

Yes, if you live on a farm you can use bovine or equine dung as nutes. Even some chicken litter works, but its high in ammonia so you have to use it sparingly.

If you are trying to be green, do as Dr. Dee said and establish a compost heap. They are simple and not very labor intensive.

I havent given it a bunch of thought, but nothing comes to mind as a common household waste prodocut that could be used for plant food. I hope someone has some answers for this.

I do know some folks piss on their pot plants, but I dont know how well or even if this works. I havent seen anyone do it, and I havent tried it, but I have heard this. Maybe someone can answer that as well.

Hi,
I wouldn't even suggest animal waste without composting first. Especially chicken shit which is pretty strong stuff. When you buy a bag of manure at the garden supply place, it's already composted.

Human piss contains urea which is a good N supply. To use it...you need to age it a week or so and then dilute it. Unless it's an outdoor plant. Then you can just whizz on the ground near it.

I'm an old organic soil grower from way back and have tried everything. The easiest thing to do is to set up a small worm operation. Can be as simple as a storage tub with a bed of ganja branches covered by a bit of dirt. You can get composting worms online. (red worms or Eisenia Fetida) Then you can feed the worms your table scraps and waste newspaper and use the worm castings on the garden.
