Butane Honey Oil Extraction Tube

Hey everyone, so i've been really wanting to make some BHO lately. But theres a bit of a problem, im not rich and i cant buy any premade extraction tubes online. I was just wondering what your methods of making these extraction tubes? If anyone can help, that'd be awesome!

Get yourself the Honey Bee Extractor or make one similar.I have owned the Honey Bee for a few years now and it works GREAT.The best oil I have ever smoked has come out of this little tube.Amazing Invention.

i'v seen many people make one for like five dollars using pvc, not sure if i would reccomend it tho, I would imagine the butane could pull some of it. what they did was get the pvc size they wanted that had threads on each end, got 2 ends, drilled one hole on one of the ends(that is for the nozzle of the butane can) and five holes on the other one(where it comes out) first screw the bottom one on with five holes makeing sure there is also a filter(coffee ok) then load what you got screw the top one on. I've personally smoked it done this way and was very pleased but still i'm hesitant, i would see if you can find anything on how pvc would react to butane.

I just went to your local DIY center and bought a piece of copper pipe about 5/8" in diameter and 2 end caps to fit. One end cap I drilled a bunch of tiny holes and the other just one hole about the size of the butane fitting. I packed 2 pipe screens into the end cap with all the holes and put that on the pipe. This one always stays on. Then pack the pipe with the goodies, put end cap with one hole on and blast away with butane. I use a dish rag or pot holder to hold the pipe as it gets really cold and frosty, and collect the butane in a glass. Cheap and easy with no plastic parts. Hope this helps.

SWIM has made em out of a gatorade bottle, and the butane doesn't react with it, so it's safe and easily found for under $2.

Iv known peeps who make their own, but they totally knew what they were doin...could be dangerous if you don't. I bought a Honey Bee, and all I can say is that that oil was DaaannnnnK

It's really not that dangerous, but is a good idea to do outside away from any spark or flame. THIS MEANS NO SMOKING ANYWHERE NEAR THE BUTANE OR FUMES!!

SWIM just pokes or drills several holes in the cap of the gatorade or similar bottle, then pokes or drills a single hole in the bottom of the bottle, just big enough to stick the very tip of the butane can nozzle just barely into the hole. Just enough so it doesn't slip, but not enough that one can't push on the can and allow the nozzle to push in enough that the butane is released.

Once the contraption is made, he grinds up some weed or trim, takes the cap off the bottle, fills it with weed, then returns the cap. Then he just takes it outside, and over a baking dish, empties several cans through the bottle, until there is no color coming through with the butane. Then he just lets that sit maybe with a fan, blowing on it, until all the butane has evaporated.

After there is no smell of butane left, he still heats the dish lightly using a double boiler, and he never lets the water actually boil. This can help to cook out any butane trapped in the oil. Spreading it very thin and letting it dry totally can give almost white dust, that looks like crystals or dust, and is another way to completely dry it, although it takes much longer. However, SWIM thinks the results are a bit superior evaporating the stuff trapped in the oil slower with less heat. If the oil seems runny at all, there is most definitely probably butane still trapped in the oil, and it should still be worked on (with one of the methods described) until it has a thicker consistency.

just remember that what one man can do so can the next.... use butane it aint no big deal. just think a lil is all.... and have like 2 tea pots of boiling water ready for immedate use. i also have been working on a way to have it all run right into a small bottle abd cook off the butane as it runs into the small bottle. ................. can an one tell me how to load a pic on my profile here?

Click User CP at the top, and you'll see a menu on the left of the screen after the page loads, which allows one to edit their signature, avatar, profile picture, password, etc. Not sure why one would want two boiling teapots of water on hand, though..

Wow, thanks for the help everyone. I was going to make one using a PVC pipe, but i hear it emits bad chemicals in the long run that i dont want to be consuming. I'm thinking about getting the Honey bee extractor, but will it be as effective after 10 uses or so? i wouldnt want to spend $50 on something ill only be using a couple of times.

Gatorade bottle is under $2-3 and works great, with nothing to build. PVC reacts, but Gatorade bottles don't. Otherwise, the copper pipe described above, would probably be a better choice for something more permanent, and sill much cheaper than $50.

I have had mine for years,it is still like new and has been used many many times.I make my own filters out of coffee filters,just cut to size.It is also dishwasher safe and a Canadian made product,yea were on the map baby hahaha.

Isn't the gatorade bottle like really flimsy? idk if i would be able to trust such thin plastic. Also, wouldnt the bottle freeze i know the tube gets super cold when the butane is run through it, the copper pipe is a possibility, im going to have to make a trip to the local hardware store and see whats in stock

No, Gatorade bottles are not too flimsy, and they do not react with strong solvents like toluene or xylene (so butane is fine). They do not get extremely cold, quickly, like metal does, and SWIM swears, it's probably the easiest thing he's ever done. He's done it multiple times, with nothing but the dankest clean honey oil around, as the result. One can waste time and money making or buying whatever contraptions they choose, but SWIM doesn't make up stories, everything he suggests has been tried by him with success, multiple times. 2 liter bottles do react with xylene or toluene, but the gatorade bottles do not.

you could use a cooper tube like raoul duke did without worring about any chemical reactions. probally the cheapest for a well built sturdy one.

I read that metal turkey basters could be used. You just have to figure out a way to keep a filter on the bottom (evidently not tape as the butane will melt the adhesives and mess up your product). Might check into that myself but I'm leanin' twords buying some bags. Good luck

I wouldn't bother with less than a quarter, and that's still only gonna produce a little. IMO, it's best to use 14 grams or more.

And for all you people worried about extracting in plastic - HDPE is non-reactive as hell, with just about anything. Find a container the right size and slap a filter on it.

Ive used pvc for the longest time and its worked just fine. I really should get a good stainless or aluminum one though...

I get a mason jar and I poke a hole in the top of the lid. I put all the weed I want to extract inside of the jar and spray in the butane. After that you let it mix around for a minute or two. Then, just turn it over into either another jar or a saucepan. Let it dry in open air and enjoy.

so thanks for all of the ideas, SWIM went to the local hardware store, and i found galvinized metal pipes that would work perfectly. I was just wondering if galvinized metal is okay to use with butane, i wouldnt want to emit any negative ions to my oil. If anyone can answer this question asap thatd be awesome! Peace & Pot everyone.
