![]() | whats you're opinion on medical mj
im lucky enough to live in one of the states that has legalized medical mj, yet instead of going for it i find myself super parinoid about the propisition. whos to say that all thoes names on the lists of patents are not going to lead to mass busts, dont get me wrong the progress that has been made is beyond anything that i thought i would see in my life time and it makes me extatic but im not sold on it yet, might just kick back for a few years to see if it all pans out... what is you're opinions or thoughts on the subject, thank you all ![]() |

I think Legal MMJ is just a stepping stone to legalization. Everyone who needs it should register. The more the better to increase the numbers to become a force to be dealt with. They cannot keep half the population quiet. I say go for it.

In my state, Legal MMJ just recently became legal. I know two people with cards, I actually got to partake of some delicious "medically-grown" herb. unfortunately, selling your medication to users without cards can get you into just as much trouble as possesion without a card

and i've read in local papers that even our city police aren't going to let up so easily, saying it should only be at home. so discretion is necessary

I'd be more worried about employer discrimination rather than jail. I don't think they would use the list to bust bunch of people but if they ever made it to where employers could see who is on the list it might make it difficult to get a job.

I do think there is a distinction between the medical marijuana movement and the recreational marijuana movement. They involve two different sets of arguments. Though both sides often agree and work with eachother, however, the medical movement has more ground to work with, and thus had more capacity to create change in legislation. The medical movement is fighting for the right to medicine prescribed by a certified health practitioner, while recreational activists are fighting a more ideological battle for the freedom to enjoy the plant. I see myself as being a part of both movements. However, I see the importance of keeping the medical marijuana movement more or less limited to the medical side of marijuana reform. I don't want cancer patients having to wait until it is 100% legalized to get proper care. If fact, because it is a medical issue, I rather not see any hindering of the medical movement through association with the recreational side. As much as that is bullshit, it is true, the medical movement will go much further without the recreational activists right beside them.

exactlyI'm sick of it being a 'battle'. It should be legal on principle alone. What gets me is that so many people take the argument "well we already have alcohol we don't need anything else to contribute to our problems" Legalization problems would be minimal compared to the current state of things. They don't see that legalization is a battle to SOLVE the problem. The problems with our jails, organized crime and good citizens being fucked over because of some archaic echo of our puritan past. They only regret I would have is putting small time dealers out of business. | |
