![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | B+ invitro (BB-Nugget) - INVITRO ROCKS!
Firstly, this is grown out on a Buckaroo Bulk nugget (as detailed here): http://forums.mycotopia.net/showthread.php?t=11576 (Buckaroo Bulk Nugget Tek (invitro, spawn bags and/or ½ gallon jars)) If you have any questions about substrate or process, just click that link above - all the details are there. Secondly, this is the 8th generation of an experimental attempt to selectively breed a strain that does extremely well, from multi-spore, when grown invitro (as detailed here): http://forums.mycotopia.net/showthread.php?t=19162 (Invitro Agar experiment: now at 8th gen. B+ & 4th gen. Tex) Thirdly, this BB-Nug was grown in a medium sized, pre-sealable, autoclavable spawn bag with filter patch (source: sporeworks.com). Mini commercial: for those who haven't used the pre-sealable bags, they ROCK. Much cooler than fudging around with sealing bags without letting air get in after the PC run. My FOAF is absolutely in love with them. And finally, the mycoporn!!! Spawn bag, unopened: ![]() Spawn bag, peeled away: ![]() Total harvest: ![]() Who needs a freakin' terrarium???

Thank ya all kindly! FOAF couldna done it without ya! No weighing was done. It would be misleading anyway. Invitro stuff tends to come out kinda waterlogged. No prints just yet, I'm afraid. FOAF wants 'em better...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Same generation, done bulk tray style
Here is the same generation, done bulk tray style (same substrate recipe as the BB-Nug: 60/60/40 of castings/coir/poly). FOAF just wants to make certain he isn't perfecting something that does great invitro but does crappy fruited normally! ![]() No problem there, this strain still loves "regular style" fruiting! I love those ripply edged caps. Cubies really are friggin' beautiful shrooms. The king daddy big'un outta this tray (quarter sitting on top in pic) weighed 140gms wet... Gotta take a second and get all "Buck mushy." I really wanna thank all you old schooler types who've been around a while and held my hand while teaching me this art. Another huge thanks goes to the great minds that aren't around any more, but contributed their knowledge to the archives and the vaults . Becoming competent at cubensis cultivation and getting to share my little Tek's and insights with this community is yet another high point in a life that has already been blessed with many more than I deserve. Thanks, all, from the bottom of my heart. I love this site!

B+ is just a giver. It is a really fantastic strain. My FOAF is truly "standing on the shoulders of giants" by working with this strain. He feels blessed even to have this opportunity - having these results is just icing on the cake... Another mini-commercial (shameless about these, aren't I?): the B+ that started all this came from Sporeworks.com a little over a year ago. The multi-spore results from an invitro Chronic style cake grow were just so insane in one very special jar...everything started from clones and prints of that jar. I love ya Freaky! If I live to be a thousand years old, I'll still remember first really connecting to Mycotopia while discussing Bob Ross, kids and PBS with you. You and 'topia and mushrooms (and Dial8/TCO, I ain't forgot y'alls kindness) will always be interconnected in my mind. And every time I work with popcorn as spawn, I have this wonderful little snapshot in my brain of other people enjoying popcorn... And Hip...you do just cut right to it, don'cha man? Damn I love you for that! During harvest of this tray a block was cut out that approximated the size of the invitro nugget. Getting it exactly the same wasn't much a concern, but it was approximate. The "classicaly" fruited tray produced more. Dry weights are still yet to be determined, but it seems to be ahead by about 20%-30% from the rough eyeball technique. Damn it to hell! But this is not total failure. This is why FOAF is convinced that better can be achieved - that margin (invitro to classical bulk) was in the 50%-80% range when he first started this little project. And my FOAF's skills fruiting bulk have improved since that first run, so things do seem to be on track. I dream of a billion home cultivators with Chronic jars or spawn bags flooding the world with Psilocybin produced beneath their beds or on their window sills. There are worse dreams, eh? The work continues!

You've given me some inspiration to try some variation to your great work. I don't know if I'll go the invitro route yet, but definitely going to work with some of your processes to suit my needs. Thank you!!!!!!!!

Damn, bb! Fantastic job, brother! I am loving it. I have never done invitro intentionally, but I am convinced that it is the best way to open this hobby up to everyone. Like was mentioned above. This really is the wave of the future. No one can argue witha bag of shrooms like that! I love ya, bb, and I absolutely appreciate your appreciation. I doubt I deserve all the publicity I get from your wonderful threads, though. I mean I get a "big hell yeah" from ya in nearly everyone of these great threads. It does not get any better than that. You truly are a good person, great cultivator, and someone I think most of us would consider a friend (however close we can be over this mind boggeling web). Anyway, a big thumbs up from me! ![]() Quote:

Sidestreet: "The "classicaly" fruited tray produced more. Dry weights are still yet to be determined, but it seems to be ahead by about 20%-30% from the rough eyeball technique." Joey - thank ya kindly! We aims to please! Dial8 - damn, ya make a brother mist up! But ya deserve the shout outs, man. You were cool to me when I was "coming up" and I don't forget good deeds (or ill ones, for that matter). You could just as easily have been a superior minded ass and I could just as easily have gotten turned off and passed over this "hobby" without another thought. I could just as easily have asked Rodger that first redundant newbie question... The string of coincidences and synchronicity that make up a life are tenous fibers. "There but for the grace of God go I," ya know? I like to try and remind myself of that a lot. I've gotten to live a damned interesting life. It would seem pretty taudry, to me, to forget the people and experiences that have been so key in shaping it.
